The UK Health Security Agency and the Met Office has issued a Yellow cold-health alert for the South West of England until 8:00am on Saturday 22nd November, with:

🚧 Hospital Travel Update – Please Allow Extra Time for Your Journey 🚧

We’d like to make all patients and visitors aware that gas works have begun on Odstock Road, near the new Spirewood Grange housing development.

These works are expected to continue for six weeks, with temporary three-way traffic lights in place. The lights will be manually controlled between 07:00–09:00 and 15:00–18:00, Monday to Friday.

⚠️ This means there are likely to be significant delays on routes to and from the hospital, particularly during the morning and evening peak times.

Please allow extra time for your journey to ensure you arrive safely and on time for appointments or visits. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these essential works take place.

*** AVIAN INFLUENZA DETECTED IN DEAD WILD BIRD IN WINTERBOURNE STOKE, WILTSHIRE ***

A positive case of H5N1 Avian Influenza has been detected in a dead wild buzzard submitted to the Animal and Plant Health Agency as part of their dead wild bird surveillance scheme.

Due to the proximity of water sources and popular dog walking routes, our dog wardens will be putting up posters along the River Till to remind the public to remain vigilant.

Avian Influenza virus can affect mammals including dogs. If your pet is sick, tell your vet if it has been in contact with wild birds.
