After years of hard work by Labour councillors, and a big spike in HMOs, Cabinet is stepping in. Next Thursday 3rd July, cabinet will vote on a borough wide direction to bring these HMO conversions under control
Right now landlords can turn homes into small HMOs without asking. That’s about to change. With Article 4 they’ll need planning permission, giving locals a say
This isn’t about blocking HMOs altogether, it’s about making sure they’re safe, decent, and don’t wreck the balance of our communities.
