In this video, we break down the exact step-by-step process to wash away saltwater and dry your tackle properly so it lasts for seasons to come. Watch now to save your gear and your wallet!
Step 1: Fresh Water Rinse – After every fishing session, bring your used lures to the sink.
Step 2: Use Cold Water – Thoroughly rinse each lure under cold tap water to wash away saltwater, grime, and debris.
Step 3: Lay Them Out – Place a clean towel down on a flat surface.
Step 4: Air Dry – Line up your lures on the towel and let them completely air dry before putting them back in your tackle box to prevent moisture buildup.

We managed to hook into a beautiful kelp po***ck and the fight felt incredible on this ultralight combo. There’s nothing quite like the pure joy of feeling every single tug and run on light tackle.

This lure works!🎣👊

Was out targeting wrasse today but ended up catching this wee Po***ck.
It could not resist this purple creature lure from Coastal Lure Fishing. Set up in a Texas Rig and Light gear.
A catch is a catch and simply means the lure works perfectly. Even a small fish like this can put a smile on my face. 😀😀.
Next time It'll be a PB wrasse.

Wildlife Fact: The Mind-Blowing History of the Humble Sandeel

The reason predators are so obsessed with sandeels is their incredibly high oil and fat content, making them a premium, energy-dense meal. In fact, they are so rich in oils that historically, industrial fisheries have harvested them not just for animal feed, but to be burned as fuel in power stations.
During the peak of industrial sandeel fishing in the late 20th century, the Danish fishing fleet caught massive quantities of sandeels in the North Sea. Because these fish are incredibly oily, a portion of the processed fish oil was actually sold to Danish power stations and burned as a biofuel substitute to generate electricity.
While the majority of sandeels have traditionally been ground down into fishmeal and oil for agricultural feed and salmon farms, the power plant fact is often cited by marine conservationists to highlight just how intensively this crucial little fish was harvested.
Fortunately for the marine ecosystem, using sandeels for fuel is a thing of the past. In fact, due to the critical role they play in the diets of puffins and other marine wildlife, the UK and Scottish governments enacted a total ban on all sandeel fishing in their waters to protect the species and the wider food web.
