Clachan Publishing All our reprints are carefully edited and are usually enhanced by the inclusion of notes and an index.

We are dedicated to publishing and making generally available previously out-of-print Irish publications, genealogies and correspondence that are available to only a few or are in danger of getting lost altogether. Our aim is to assist those who wish to explore the history of their families and localities by publishing previously out-of-print books, memoirs, genealogies and correspondence. We are

largely voluntary and are not out for profit (however we do have costs) and use the most up-to-date, print-on-demand internet publishing technology to reproduce old books, articles, photographs, letters etc. We publish these in book, photo album or booklet form and promote them on our webpage.

Our Story

Some years ago, and largely bed-bound, I decided to research my family history. I did this with my cousin in England and between us we wrote a fascinating and well researched book. BUT then the issue arose of how were we to get it published for the limited readership interested in our family history? We It was then that I discovered the beauty of self-publishing. I discovered I could publish one, ten or hundreds of copies at a very reasonable price through the internet, enough to cover my costs if I sold some of the copies.

However, I had been an academic writer in my past life and was familiar with using computers and the internet. Not everyone is ans self-publishing can be quite daunting if you are not sure of what you are doing so I decided o set up a small business to assist those who would like to self-publish. We have published books which explore the history of families and localities. We have assisted writers publish poems and novels, family memento books, genealogies and out-of-print books - any book that is aimed at a specific select readership. We are basically a non-commercial business (however we do have costs) and use the most up-to-date, print-on-demand internet publishing technology to reproduce old books, articles, photographs, letters etc. We publish these in book, photo album or booklet form and promote them on our webpage. § no minimum order required § you only pay for the copies you buy § free interactive blog provided, if requested § royalties available for commercial publications § help with editing and formatting at a reasonable fee, if requested. § They are the available at our Web Store, and in some cases, Amazon.
