Autumn Sale of Margey Originals at Culloden Estate & Spa
Portrush-based artist Adrian Margey will return to The Culloden Estate & Spa this autumn for his annual exhibition and sale, showcasing a new collection of original paintings from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th October.
Renowned for his vibrant, contemporary interpretations of the Irish landscape, Margey’s latest collection celebrates much-loved locations across Northern Ireland and Donegal, including Belfast, the North Coast, North Down, the Ards Peninsula, Strangford Lough and the Mournes.
The exhibition will feature a diverse selection of large and small works, with a particular focus on Belfast landmarks including the Harland and Wolff cranes, Titanic Quarter, Ulster Hall and Strand Cinema. Other highlights include Scrabo Tower, Mount Stewart, Kinnegar Pier, Seapark, Crawfordsburn and Bangor Marina.
Margey’s distinctive style combines bold, kaleidoscopic colour with sweeping brushwork and expressive palette-knife techniques. Influenced by the Fauves, Irish Impressionists and indigenous artists of South America, his work is both dynamic and emotive. His increasingly sought-after impressionistic paintings, with more naturalistic colour palettes, will also feature.
A self-taught artist with a PhD from Queen’s University Belfast, Margey has built a growing reputation both locally and internationally.
Adrian said: “I always look forward to bringing a new collection to the Culloden. I love revisiting familiar places and interpreting them through colour, movement and atmosphere. I hope visitors find something that creates a connection with a place they know and love.”
The exhibition runs 11am–9pm Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th October, and 11am–6pm Sunday 25th October. Admission is free.
