Weā€™re all guilty of focusing on numbers.

But views alone donā€™t grow your audience.

Recently, one of our client reels brought in a large increase in followers during our very first week of working together, and it was only the second video weā€™d created for the account.

When you look at why it worked, it comes down to a few simple things:

ā€¢ clarity
ā€¢ storytelling
ā€¢ momentum (they had already been showing up consistently before we came on board)
ā€¢ and giving people a reason to follow the journey

Most people donā€™t follow because a video is ā€œviralā€.

They follow because they understand:
whatā€™s happening, why it matters, and what theyā€™ll get out of following along.

If your content is getting attention but not converting into followers, hopefully this helps a little šŸ¤

six months in vs. today

about six months into Coastin, we only had two clients and in that time we lost one of them, completely out of our control. what you hear at the start of the video is a voice note I sent to a friend when I was really struggling with it all.

we couldnā€™t afford to pay ourselves and it was tough, to say the least.

those long days, working through sickness because Iā€™d burnt out, napping on the office floor, juggling a part-time job whilst working full-time hours in Coastinā€¦ it was rough, but it paid off.

I by no means recommend any of that and I definitely wonā€™t glamourise it. it was really hard. but what would have been harder was letting the dream slip away, and I was prepared to do whatever it took to make Coastin work. not because I fully believed in myself at the time, but because I believed in Coastin šŸŒŠ

now, those days have built something so beautiful and have given me a confidence my teenage self wouldā€™ve dreamed of.

so if youā€™re in a tough season, just remember that better days are coming, and donā€™t forget to give yourself more credit. it will get easier & your hard work will all be worth it šŸ¤

the little things are often the big ones!

what do you mean I can wear what I want, sit how I want, work when I want, from where I want, and with who I want?!

Iā€™m sure I wonā€™t be alone in this, but Iā€™m SO guilty of hitting a goal and then almost immediately focusing on the next.

moments like this remind me that everything in the future is a bonus, because what I have right now is everything I could have ever wanted.

donā€™t forget to stop & appreciate all those smaller moments too šŸ¤

before we saw these results, we spent months consistently posting, testing content styles, experimenting with hooks, and learning what this audience actually cared about!

the account had been inactive, so we were essentially rebuilding engagement from scratch.

so when we started posting trial reels, the groundwork was already there.

reminder: the results you want on social media usually come after MONTHS of showing up.

just keep going & start posting the damn trial reels!!
