A damp morning made an attempt up Devils steps slippery yesterday. It’s was going great until I stalled at the last part! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Washabrook Lane, Kingsbridge

Arguably one of the most difficult lanes to ride in South Devon. I came here last year and couldn’t get up after 3 attempts. Managed it today with one annoying stall. As always the video doesn’t show the steepness and size of rock steps in this lane! I’m sure people will have ridden this one and can vouch for its difficultly.

Back in the South Hams. Several lanes above the A38 that I hadn’t yet videoed for the TRF Green Road Map now ticked off ✅ and a few missed down towards Kingsbridge when I was down this way last year. 114 Mile loop with a few showers.
Devils steps and Washabrooke lane both on the route. They were slippery! Videos to follow.

Hewsters Lane, Noss Mayo GRM:5743 W-E

A clip from down in the South Hams today. This Lane starts Right out of Noss Mayo and climbs steeply with several twists and turns before reaching a gate. After this it opens out into a Gravel lane which becomes Tarmac after a few hundred meters.

Trewandra Model Village, Tideford

Just came across this photo from 2023 when exploring Cornish Green lanes. We rode this uUCR and came across this Model village that had been built along the lane. Definitely one of the most unexpected finds to date. An amazing amount of work and detail has gone into it!

Ashes Road, Shute

The old road from Shute across to Kilmington. Rocky Climb up from Shute. Some big holes have recently been filled in with blocks and soil to make it easier. Very popular with Dog walkers so take care.

Evening Ride in East Devon. Only 34 miles over towards Chard and Back.
Nights are drawing in quick so there won’t be many more chances this year. LED Headlight is a great upgrade 👌🏻

Lidburn Hill, Tedburn St Mary

Short Lane just outside Tedburn St Mary.

Southwest Estate Maintenance SWEM Have just completed some Surface and drainage repairs here so thought it was rude not to try it out. Great job done as this always used to become very boggy in the Winter.

Oxham Lane, Romansleigh

Earlier this Month there was no trouble with the Stream crossing here. We have tried this in the winter before and it has been impassable. At least with this video it gives you and idea of the shallowest route. There is a sign off the main Road saying "To Public Footpath" This is only directing walkers to the fact there is a small Footpath which bypasses the Stream and these have to be signposted from the nearest Tarmac road. These signs have caused confusion between users in the past.
