Dancing without looking back, letting go of each other's hands, and finding one another again in the middle of the jazz, the smoke, and the lights. Their chemistry definitely knows no centuries!

I honestly cannot explain how the latest episode left me! I am still completely breathless. Definitely, the MacKenzie warrior bloodline does not skip anyone... It came with full force from the start! 🔥
Watching Ellen take that step forward at Castle Leoch, grabbing her bow and arrows alongside the other women to defend the stronghold at all costs... seriously, it gave me goosebumps. It is impossible not to watch that scene and think: "There it is, that is exactly where Jamie gets all his strength and archery skills from!". You can tell from a mile away who he inherited that indomitable spirit from. Her final line to MacKinney before firing that fatal shot was absolute perfection.
And to make matters worse, everything with Julia inside Lord Lovat’s castle is pure terror. She is trapped in a horrific and super uncomfortable psychological game with that old fox, all while guarding a secret that has us all doing intense math with the timelines. The tension is unreal, please!

«Which one do you prefer: the family at Nampara or the windswept cliffs? (And yes, obviously with a well-deserved tribute to Garrick...)» ✨🐾
Have you noticed how some absences in portraits are just too glaring? That's why I wanted to paint these two alternative scenes for our favorite Cornwall family. The truth is, a Poldark portrait would never be complete without the most loyal guardian of all: good old Garrick.

That's why today I'm bringing you two completely different vibes to choose from in this post:

1️⃣ The Sanctuary of Nampara: An intimate, cozy corner in the library. Ross with his series-finale uniform, the kids growing up at a dizzying pace, and Demelza remaining, as always, the heartbeat and the lighthouse of that home.

2️⃣ The Call of the Horizon: Ross and Demelza embraced against the wind at the edge of the cliff, watching a sailing ship drift away under the final golden tones of sunset.
But beyond the paintings, I wanted to share (or remind the most nostalgic ones of) the real story behind our beloved scruffy dog:

🎬 Barley, a real-life hero
In the BBC series, Garrick was brought to life by an incredible furry actor named Barley. Just like Demelza in the fiction, Barley had a rough start: he was a rescued stray dog who found a second chance through Gill Raddings' Stunt Dogs agency. Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza) loved him dearly in real life, and believe me, our hearts broke right along with hers when she dedicated that gorgeous farewell to him at the end of 2023.

🧛‍♂️ The "Immortal Vampire" of Cornwall
If you hang around Reddit forums or fan groups, you surely know the inside joke about Garrick's age. Demelza rescues him as a puppy, and the scruffy dog is still happily leaping along the cliffs as if nothing happened even when the children are nearly grown! That's why the fandom always jokes that he's an immortal dog to whom the years didn't apply at all.

🍖 True love or pure bribery?
While Eleanor swore eternal devotion, Aidan Turner (Ross) always confessed with a laugh in interviews that Barley's affection wasn't entirely selfless. Turns out the pup was a total professional who only worked for the treats and snacks the crew constantly hid inside the actors' period clothing!

Thinking about all of this, and how the Poldark finale left us—so open, bittersweet, and filled with that melancholic vibe we also get from Outlander—I was left with a question:
If you could choose the ultimate closure for them, which one do you prefer? The cozy home peace of Nampara with Garrick snoring on the rug, or the wild, untamed passion of the cliffs facing the sea?

First come the customary butterflies fluttering in the chest, and shortly thereafter, a steaming and refined dish of pasta undertakes the task of kindling the final spark. If there is any compelling reason for a gentleman to personally prepare an exquisite dish of spaghetti—culinary secrets he acquired (let us call it loosely) during his prolonged travels across the Italian continent—it is undoubtedly the promise of an evening as intimate as it is memorable.
A full belly makes for a happy heart, after all. Yet, once the feast is consumed, unyielding reality bursts into the chamber like a sudden gale: for the love of heaven, sister, take that infant to bed at once!
