IF WE MAKE IT THROUGH DECEMBER: THE WAINWRIGHTS ON JIMMY KIMMEL

Last week Loudon and family performed The Hag's classic December song, "If We Make It Through December," on the Jimmy Kimmel show ahead of Rufus and Martha Wainwright's Christmas benefit in LA, Hooray For Hollydays, in which both Loudon and Lucy Wainwright Roche appeared as special guests.

“Hooray for Hollydays is more than a concert-it’s a celebration of courage, creativity, and legacy,” said Katie Daryl, Creative Director of Development at Cancer Can Rock. “Thanks to the Wainwrights’ generosity and vision, this event will empower artists with cancer to create music that lives beyond them. Together, we’re honoring the spirit of Kate McGarrigle and ensuring that these musicians’ stories are never forgotten.”

Funny anecdote from Muscle Shoals music great, and often unsung guitarist Junior Lowe, who left this world in February.

This clip is part of the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area's YouTube efforts to celebrate northwest Alabama's music & American Indian heritage and the Tennessee River. The oral-history videos feature interviews with musicians, songwriters & record producers who made hits for the stars in the 1960s, '70s & '80s in the "Hit Recording Capital of the World."

Dan and Spooner recently participated in the exhibit launch of "Muscle Shoals: Low Rhythm Rising" at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. The exhibit features them both among others, and runs through March 2028.
