So, I'm not sure if I can put my feelings about the weekend just as eloquently as Neil Sheasby but here goes...like many of you, I started my Stone Foundation journey as a fan, watching the band grow in stature and seemingly getting better with each release, joyously captured in each of their energetic live performances. I've previously supported them as a Dj, but now have had the pleasure of promoting 2 sets of Irish dates with them and getting to know the lads on a personal level. The time spent with these boys allows me to view just how determined they are to push on and their level of commitment on the road should be admired. The last couple of days has allowed me insight into how they tick, their endeavours to deliver and the fantastic relationships they have with one another. It truly is a joy to see. They are one of the hardest working bands around and it was great to see many of you attend and enjoy the shows, appearing in sync with the band that you have grown together with. It's amazing to see a fair few folk travel from the UK for these dates (Sheas will tell me off if I refer to them as shows!) and as a promoter, I, along with the band, are very thankful. I had the pleasure of chatting in depth with Neil S on the train journey to Belfast, touching on the importance of family, football and the resurgence of vinyl records and how huge a part these subjects have all played in both of our lives. I always love spending time with like-minded people and I find Sheas to be a hugely engaging guy, someone I could chat with for hours. I also found it incredible to be in the company of Mick Talbot, a musician who, along with Weller, featured on posters in my bedroom as a teenager (although no way was I telling him that, bit weird at this age!) Dave, Steve, Ian and Dominic, you lads played a blinder, thank you so much. Neil Jones has taken on the added responsibilities of sorting tour affairs so big ups to the man for helping me to make this happen I can't forget Mr Peter Playdon who it was lovely to catch up with. To The Workman's Club & The Oh Yeah Music Centre and their teams, I salute you. Also, thanks to my wife Kate and daughter Nina for their support.
