Some women do too much during dating and teach men the wrong picture. They cook every day, wash clothes, clean house, and cancel work just to please a boyfriend. The man now believes that this is her normal life. Later in marriage it turns into a heavy demand. What felt romantic when you were dating becomes a strong rule when you are tired and busy.

Cooking for someone because you enjoy it is fine. That is your natural self and it will not choke you later. But cooking only to prove that you are a good wife material is risky. You set a standard that your body and mind cannot keep for long. It is better to be honest from the start so nobody feels cheated when real life begins.

Many Nigerian rich men spend big money on actresses and make it look like other men are lazy. They pay for cars, trips, and big houses, while male actors who work hard struggle to pay hospital bills. Every adult has the right to spend money on whoever they like, but this imbalance creates a fake image that only women are winning in Nollywood.

I challenge men who have money to also support men in the industry with projects, not just parties. In my own company, Simplicity Associates Productions, there is no sexual harassment and no secret payment for roles. Women come because they know they will be treated with respect. We use our earnings to pull people off the street, not to drag them deeper into shame.

The lady I had my son with is someone I respect, and we share that bond of raising a child.

Even though my life is busy, being a father matters to me. It is not just about sending money or posting pictures. It is about being present when I can and setting an example.

When my son looks back one day, I want him to see a man who tried his best, both in the ring and as a dad.

Before Love in Every Word, I told my manager I did not want to do any more heavy Igbo accented characters. I was afraid people would lock me inside that one box. Then he called to say a director wanted me for a small YouTube film for just three days.

I asked how much she was paying and I said yes. For me it looked like another job, nothing special. But I still respected the craft. I read the script and liked it. The writing was smart and warm. The story felt real, so I decided to show up fully.

When I reached set I saw how big it really was. The script had more than one hundred and forty scenes. By the third day that was supposed to be my last day, we had not even finished twenty scenes. None of us knew that this film would change things.

There was a time I used to blame everything around me. I blamed the country, the system, the industry, even my background. But at some point I had to face a hard truth. I was not only a victim of my circumstances. I was a victim of my choices.

Nobody forced me to spend money the wrong way. Nobody forced me to keep the wrong friends. Those were my decisions. When I understood that, I also saw my power. If my choices brought me down, then new choices could also lift me back up again.

That is why I talk a lot about responsibility. I want you to own your part in your story. You may not control everything, but you can control your next move. The day you accept that is the day you start walking out of shame into a new life.

Sometimes I feel I have gone through enough pain in love to last a whole lifetime. Part of me wants to say I am done with marriage forever, because the heartbreaks have been heavy. I am human, and there is only so much a person can carry and still stand.

But I also know myself. I am a lover, and I have so much love to give. I cannot honestly say that for the rest of my life I will never care for anyone again. So I told God to decide my story, and if real love comes with His peace, I will not reject it.

The industry did not welcome me with open arms. I do not think it welcomes anybody like that. Acting here is years of building blocks. You keep trying every day. It feels like swimming under water. You cannot see clearly, but you keep moving until you touch the end.

I started from church. In church nobody pays you for drama. It is a labour of love. We would rehearse for many weeks. We could perform three or four shows in one day. At the end we would hold hands, pray again, say God bless you and quietly go home.

That humble work helped my acting muscles. I sparred with strong stage actors. We pushed each other to grow. Every time I got a chance to act, I took it. I stayed on stage again and again. Passion kept me there long before money ever entered the picture.

My first move into acting was funny. I did not know anyone, so I used my own money to shoot a movie. I thought that was the way in. After we finished, the film did not move. It was a big flop, and that money went down just like that.

I became more humble and ready to start again from the bottom. My cousin, Rukky Sanda, was a big producer, and she gave me a small role. On her set, the owner of Iroko TV saw me and later called her about this guy she noticed. That is why I always say I believe in time and chance. You do the right thing, and God uses people to open doors when you least expect it.

In our church, they felt it was wrong for me and my now ex-husband to be close friends and still single. He was choir director, I was in the choir, and they wanted everything to look holy from the outside. They rushed us into counseling, set a date, and soon there was a wedding.

I was deep into religious activity at that time, and I followed rules more than I listened to my spirit. We never really sat down to know each other as lovers, only as friends. After marriage we saw we were not compatible, and the pressure broke what could have stayed a pure friendship.

Even after my breakthrough in acting, money was still scarce. My mother is an event planner, so I decided to learn and upgrade that skill too. I started doing events in Asaba while still chasing movie roles. I would plan parties, arrange decorations, and then rush back to set when they called me. It was a very busy and stressful season.

But those event jobs helped me survive and kept my hands working. They also taught me how to deal with different people and different characters, which helped me later in acting. Nothing in my journey was wasted. Every hustle, every side work, every late night helped build the woman and the actress that people are seeing today.

People talk a lot about the goal record of Rashidi Yekini, and that I am very close to it. To be honest, many times I did not even know the numbers until friends showed them to me. They send messages and say you can do it, and that gives me extra motivation to keep working hard in training and in matches.

As a child, I dreamed of playing for the Super Eagles and scoring goals. I did not watch Rashidi play, but I know his story and how much he inspired others across Africa. To even be mentioned near his name is a big honour for me. No matter what happens, I will always see him as the greatest striker in Super Eagles history and a true legend.

Before I was coach, I was a big fan of this national team. Since the World Cup in France in nineteen ninety eight, I followed them closely. I bought the jersey. I travelled to watch the games when I could. I loved the colours, the style, the passion of the team.

Now I sit on the bench as the coach. Sometimes I think about that journey and I feel very grateful. I watched these players on television, and today I work with them every day. It is a big responsibility, but also a dream. I want to honour the history that made me fall in love with this team.
