State of Ember
What do you get when Mastodon and Dream Theatre get busy and in a time machine hurtling through the naughties? A smouldering love child called State of Ember.
We all have those moments where we just don’t know what to listen to. There are way to many genres and sub genres of music, this can leave us feeling dumbfounded and repetitively telling Alexa to skip.
Wouldn’t it be great to find a band who are able to give you ear-gasms with a pick n mix of sweet sweet sonics?
Oh Yeahhhhhh! You know it.
State of Ember makes that happen.
We met State of Ember at Dudley’s Ye Olde Foundry, supporting Nameless alongside Zenith on 05/03/2022.
We quickly realised that these guys were lovely and had a great presence.
When they started playing, the room was instantly captivated by their full bodied, rich sound. Their energy and stage presence alone was enough to get the whole venue head bopping and moving.
State of Ember’s sound is reminiscent of a time as opposed to a particular style. They deliver an eclectic mix of alt punk and power metal that dominated the stereo speakers of the 2000’s. All of this brought to you by a 3 piece band of incredibly talented and down to earth people.
Chris (guitar and vocals). Mike (bass) and Chelsea (drums) all hail from Redditch. These guys formed State of Ember after a break up of their previous band Khaos Theory.
Their music has taken them from strength to strength, including one of their songs (Denial) making its home on the soundtrack for the video game Wreckfest!
State of Ember released their first Ep first Clouded Views back in 2017 and followed it up a few years later with Broken Horizons.
After speaking to bassist Mike, we can all look forward to new music this year! Fingers crossed 😉
We seriously recommend seeing these guys play! You would be a fool not to!
We at Break it Down will update you on State of Embers gigs dates and where to find them very soon, so stay locked in!
