TODAY at 2pm >> Speakeasy with Susie

Tune in today at 2pm as Susie is joined by Gus Campbell!

A third-generation musician from Birmingham’s renowned Campbell family, Gus Campbell is cousin to Ali and Robin Campbell of UB40 fame. Starting out in local bands, Gus soon found his passion in dance music, rising to prominence in the late 1990s with the UK Top 10 hit “Girls Like Us”, which took him touring across the UK and Europe and landed him an appearance on Top of the Pops.

After his chart success, Gus transitioned into composing for film and television, building a successful career behind the scenes. Now, he’s returned to his first love—dance music—bringing renewed energy to producing new tracks and DJing live. With deep musical roots and a lifelong passion for sound, Gus continues to connect with audiences and have fun doing what he loves most.

TRACK OF THE WEEK >> Sick&Tired by Izuzvo

Izuzvo is a dynamic and versatile musician whose sound draws inspiration from a diverse range of genres like R&B, Pop, and Soul to create a truly unique sonic experience.

“This song is so special to me. For so long, it served me as a reminder to allow myself to feel the pain, but to not live in it. To see situations for what they are, rather for what they could’ve been. That there is always more to life than we might think. It’s a piece that brings me a lot of joy, comfort and peacefulness. It sounds like I am and I hope it gets translated that way and people get to love it just as much as I do.”

TRACK OF THE WEEK >> Animal by Matt Ryder

Ryder creates an expansive sound that blends many genres. His music is written, produced, and performed by him, giving him an authentic sound and truly independent feel.

‘Animal’ is the title track, and first single, taken from his upcoming EP and is the first song in a 6 part project. “This project feels like so many different emotions to me, over a year in the making - it really did force me to grow. It made me feel heard and also told me some tough home truths. I hope (even if it's small) you can find something in this project for yourself, to help you get on with life and feel better day to day.”
