After getting my PCOS/PMOS diagnosis and being told it would impact me getting pregnant, I was able to get pregnant 4 months later with no help from the doctors, no medication just a specific wellness plan created off the back of my blood work analysis. If you’re currently struggling to conceive, DM me and I can go through the exact process I did to get pregnant with my precious baby boy 🩵

Proof that sharing your story is so important!

My journey with PCOS has been a very long one… Lots of misdiagnosis, negligence and being told false information. Last year February I was told PCOS was going to stop me from getting pregnant, 4 months later I proved that taking time to understand my diagnosis and my body would change everything.
Fast forward today, the BBC have reached out wanting to share my story too 🄹🩵

This is a reminder to any woman whose had their dreams of becoming a mum shattered due to PCOS (now known as PMOS), your diagnosis is not your destiny I promise.

Never stop advocating for yourself, seeking answers and believing in your body šŸ¤

Nothing could have prepared me for how much I’d hate my stomach after a c-section…. Why is the ā€˜C-section shelf’ even a thing?! 😩🄺

As a first time mum I never truly knew how breast feeding would be. I predicted the tiredness, the beautiful bond created with your baby, how demanding it is and how incredible it feels to nourish your baby using your body but NOTHING could have prepared me for this…

The ONE thing that completely shocked me was how starving you are 24/7 without actually having any appetite.

At the start I got so focused on feeding my baby I completely forgot to nourish myself too. Some days I was literally surviving off water and kitkats without even realising it.

Trust me postpartum exhaustion mixed with breastfeeding honestly hits different when your body isn’t being fuelled properly. I’ve learned that what you eat, drink and how you look after yourself matters too, not just for your own recovery and energy but to support your milk supply and overall wellbeing as well.

Drop a 🩵 if you’re a breast feeding mama and can relate xx

Spend the morning with me, 7 weeks postpartum. Learning that motherhood isn’t about having it all together, it’s about finding little things that help you feel like you again šŸ„¹šŸ¤

Some mornings are messy, emotional, beautiful, exhausting… all at once but creating small routines for myself, even while navigating feeds, naps and mum life has genuinely helped me feel more grounded postpartum.

One thing I’ve been using lately is the to help me stay on top of my routine, organise my thoughts and make space for me again amongst the chaos of motherhood šŸ«¶šŸ¼

If you’re also navigating postpartum or newborn life and you’re trying to pour back into yourself a little more, I’ve linked it in my bio for you šŸ¤

Being told your PCOS could affect your chances of getting pregnant is something that stays with you.

I remember feeling frustrated with my body, confused by my hormones and scared that becoming a mom might never happen for me.

So many women with PCOS are dealing with inflammation, insulin resistance, irregular cycles, fatigue, weight fluctuations, acne, anxiety and feeling completely disconnected from their bodies… so I wanted to share the changes that genuinely helped me before falling pregnant with my son 🩵

1. I quit va**ng
Ni****ne and va**ng can increase inflammation and put stress on the body which can already be heightened with PCOS.

2. I started taking targeted vitamins & supplements
One of the biggest supplements for me was inositol. It’s used to support insulin resistance and ovulation in women with PCOS. Instead of randomly taking supplements, I focused on supporting my hormones properly.
________________________________

3. I did a private hormone blood test
This honestly changed everything for me because I finally started understanding what MY body needed. PCOS symptoms can sometimes get dismissed or overlooked so seeing my hormone health properly helped me make more informed changes instead of guessing.

4. I changed my diet to stabilise blood sugars & reduce inflammation
Blood sugar imbalance and insulin resistance are huge contributors to PCOS symptoms. Once I focused on eating balanced meals, more protein, whole foods, fibre and reducing inflammatory foods, I noticed huge changes in my energy, bloating, cravings, mood and cycle health. I stopped punishing my body and started nourishing it instead.

5. I reduced alcohol
Alcohol can impact blood sugar balance, inflammation, sleep quality, stress levels, and hormones which are all things that can already be sensitive with PCOS.
