Days 70–72 🌍🚴♂️
The past three days have been a rollercoaster — a mix of struggle, kindness, and moments of magic.
Day 70 began in the stillness of the desert, and soon my heart was full from the kindness of strangers. Cars turned around just to greet me. People waved me down for tea, gave me water, food, offers of accommodation — even help with anything I might need. As the heat rose, I found shade under a lone thorn tree before pressing on.
Day 71 tested me both physically and mentally. I reminded myself to be kind to my body and mind… to take more breaks… and to keep moving forward, even if slowly. Once again, the generosity of strangers gave me strength. And just when I thought the day was over, the Sahara gifted me an unforgettable sunset, camping solo under its vast skies.
Day 72 started well — until the wind arrived. By 10am, it was blowing hard, growing stronger until I simply couldn’t fight it anymore. After five long hours seeking shelter, a kind gentleman appeared. He refused to leave me behind, packed my bike into his vehicle, and drove me to Nouakchott. It was the right call, and I’m deeply grateful.
Three days. Countless challenges. Endless kindness. These moments remind me why I’m on this journey — proof that humanity’s heart beats strongest in the most unexpected places. ❤️
