Who needs road improvements when potholes do the job instead?
Drive through Birmingham these days and it's less "A to B" and more "avoid the crater."
Maybe this has been the council's masterplan all along... make the roads so bad that nobody wants to drive.
Satire, of course... but only just.

🚌 Free bus travel for children this August!

Children aged under 15 can travel FREE on eligible bus services across England from 1 August to 31 August 2026.

The scheme includes West Midlands Travel, giving families a chance to save money during the summer holidays.

Check with your bus operator to see which services are included before you travel.

Birmingham City Council has finally found a solution to congestion.

Forget bypasses, park and ride schemes or investing in better roads.

Just leave the potholes untouched for long enough.

Eventually, people will stop driving altogether because they'll be too busy dodging craters, replacing tyres or waiting for the AA.

It's a bold transport strategy.

Why reduce traffic by improving the roads when you can reduce it by making the roads unusable?

At this rate, Birmingham won't need traffic calming measures.

The potholes will do the job for free. 🚗🕳️

The West Midlands is now on the brink of drought, with rivers at some of their lowest levels for this time of year.

To keep water flowing, around 200 million litres of water are being pumped into the River Severn every day. That's the equivalent of 80 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

The Environment Agency says it's working to protect drinking water supplies and wildlife, while urging everyone to use water wisely as the hot, dry weather continues.

Spain didn't just win the World Cup.

They showed that skill, patience and great football can still overcome gamesmanship and negativity.

The best team lifted the trophy, and in my opinion, football got the champion it deserved.
