🎄 A Christmas Pause & Year-End Reflection 🎄

As we approach Christmas and begin to wind down for the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect - and to say thank you.

The final weeks before Christmas are always busy behind the scenes for any business, and this year has been no different for us as a start-up. It’s been a season of focused, thoughtful work: building and refining websites, shaping digital strategy, and supporting clients as their businesses continue to grow. Much of that work happens quietly, but it’s work I care deeply about. Over the past few weeks, we’ve also welcomed two new clients, and I’ve loved getting these very different projects off the ground.

I’m incredibly grateful to the clients who trusted me with their businesses this year - whether through a full website build, social media campaigns, strategic support, or ongoing project work. Launching STUDIO: ARC in May 2025 was a leap of faith. I didn’t know exactly how it would unfold, but I was fully committed to giving it my all. Seeing the business grow in the way it has has reaffirmed that decision.

I’m also thankful for the conversations, connections, and collaborations that have developed throughout the year, both locally and further afield. I don’t believe in rushing work or chasing noise, I believe in doing things properly, with intention, clarity, and care. That approach will continue into the year ahead so I can ensure clients receive the highest quality of work.

🎁 Christmas closing dates
Final working day: Friday 19th December.
Reopening: Monday 5th January.

🏹 Looking ahead
January is currently full, with spaces for new projects starting from February.

Thank you to everyone who’s followed along, supported me personally or my business, shared posts, recommended me, or quietly wished me well this year. None of it is taken for granted.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas and a steady, positive start to the New Year.

And despite my Landlord's distain for any Christmas music being played before the 24th of December, the jingles have been jingling. 🔔🎊

Most businesses aren’t struggling online because they lack talent, passion, or potential. They’re struggling because their digital presence has no strategy behind it.

And after working with brands, creatives, organisations, and local businesses across the UK, I see the same pattern again and again:

Successful businesses do three things online that struggling businesses avoid.

💼

1. They treat their website like a sales system, not a static brochure.

High-performing businesses understand that their website isn’t decoration — it’s infrastructure.

It’s where clarity, messaging, design psychology, user flow, and conversion strategy all work together.

Struggling businesses settle for “at least it’s up”. Successful ones demand performance, not presence.

🗂

2. They get extremely clear on their brand story and communicate it with precision.

Not vague statements, not generic slogans, not “we do a bit of everything”.
Successful businesses know:
– who they serve
– what problem they solve
– why their solution is the best choice
– how to articulate that in under 10 seconds

Brand clarity is magnetic.
Confusion repels.

This alone can be the difference between enquiries every week… and silence.

📊

3. They make decisions based on data, not guesswork.

They know what pages people land on.
They know what’s converting.
They track behaviour, not hope for the best.
And when something isn’t working, they adjust quickly and strategically.

Struggling businesses avoid analytics because it feels overwhelming — but it’s the single most important part of growth.

📈 The truth?

Success online isn’t accidental.
It’s intentional.
Consistent.
And built on foundations most businesses overlook.

If you’re ready to move from “trying to be visible” to actually building a strategic, high-performing online presence, our Brand & Website Prescription will show you exactly what’s missing and how to fix it.

Finishing the week off at a great place. I could keep going until midnight and beyond, but I have promised myself that I will take my weekends off for personal time!

This week I have:

✨Signed a new client. 📝 I can't wait to share about them, but for now, all I will say is that they are in the engineering space.
✨Had my 24/25 self assessment submitted. 🥳 For the last one, I was behind, overwhelmed, and realised I wasn't going to be able to get it done properly - so I found an Angel who was just starting out her accounting business and she saved my bacon. So there was no question I wouldn't hire her again for this year's! I highly recommend every business owner to just pay for someone to their accounts - you feel so much lighter! Outsource what you can!
✨ Wrapped up the tail ends of some old projects. 🎀
✨ Have taken control of another businesses website that I cannot WAIT to get my teeth into redesigning and making it so they start making SALESSS. 📈
✨ I have had some really positive things happen in my private life which I will keep private, but what I will say is: just work your bum off. For everyone. Life isn't easy for everyone and things don't come easy to some people. But don't let that discourage you from working every single day towards improving your life, yourself, your health, your anything. Keep going! 💪👊

So, with all of that, it's after six, and I am going home to feed and force cuddles and kisses onto my cat, Leopold, then I am going to pick up my friend and my God Kids to spend the evening with them! Have a great weekend everyone!

P.S. if you have a business idea that you want to get off the ground, or already have one set up and need help with anything and everything online visibility, get in touch for a call next week!

P.P.S. This is a pic of me renovating my office. I spend weeks and weeks doing this till 11/12 at night. Every minute and effort was worth it!

Personal post incoming... 🛬

I had one of those days today where everything just felt… slightly overwhelming.

I was behind on proposals, struggling to focus, and frustrated that I’d spent too much time recently on enquiries that never went anywhere.

The irony? The projects I was delaying were from people who are actually ready to invest and grow. It wasn’t about procrastination. It was about being overloaded, unfocused, and trying to carry far too much in my head.

So I picked up the phone and called my business advisor. Within 30 minutes, everything felt clearer.

Not because the work magically disappeared, but because we talked through what was really causing the overwhelm — things like:
• giving too much time to unqualified leads
• giving full in-depth consultations that should never have been booked
• holding space for people who aren’t serious about paying me for my work
• undervaluing the strategic depth of the work I actually do
• not having strong enough boundaries around my time and expertise
• and not to mention my pricing...🤫

We mapped out simple changes that immediately lifted the weight:
✔ strengthening my pre-qualification process
✔ creating a clearer structure for enquiries
✔ protecting my time
✔ stepping into the premium, strategy-led role I’m already doing behind the scenes
✔ and aligning my services with the level I actually deliver

This is your reminder (and mine):
Being overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re failing — it often means your business has outgrown its old structure.

Today reminded me why having support matters. Why clear systems matter. Why boundaries matter. And why being able to say “no” is as important as saying “yes.”

I feel lighter, clearer, and ready to implement some serious changes in my business.

Sometimes, the most powerful move you can make… is asking for help. ✨

I pushed back my day off plans to attend a fascinating event this morning, hosted by Durham Constabulary and Bishop Auckland College at the McIntyre Centre.

Aimed at cyber security for business, I got some really great insights and tips for my business and my clients' businesses.

I attended because I was already planning to branch out into the cyber security world. Having training and qualifications in this field will be invaluable in today's online climate, whether it's for personal tech usage, tech I use when volunteering for REACT Disaster Response, or for my business STUDIO: ARC.

It was also great to meet some experts in the field, who I look forward to building relationships with and learning from.

⛑️ Hurricane Melissa | Response Update | Jamaica - 4 November 2025

Across Jamaica, communities are still clearing debris and mud after Hurricane Melissa tore through last week.

🔺 Over 30,000 people remain displaced.
🔺 More than 800 shelters are active nationwide.
🔺 Power and communications are still intermittent in several parishes.

Our incredible teams of Responders are working under the World Food Programme’s Standby Partnership Network, supporting the movement of essential relief supplies by air and sea and helping strengthen logistics networks across the Caribbean.

Right now, the team is:
➡️ Offloading and distributing emergency food and shelter items arriving into Kingston Port
➡️ Coordinating WFP logistics assets and supply flows from Barbados to Jamaica
➡️ Supporting government-led response efforts through the National Emergency Operations Centre

“Every box carried means another family reached.”

Our Responders in the field and at HQ can only keep this vital support moving with your help.
