Taribo West really missed it this time with his outburst about Peter Rufai's welfare.

Let's be clear; it is NOT the government's responsibility to create retirement plans for footballers. These players were paid heavily; far more than the average hardworking Nigerian will ever earn.

If a player fails to save or invest wisely during his prime, the blame lies squarely on him, not on Nigeria.

Peter Rufai was a legend, yes, and we will forever respect his contributions. But dragging government into his personal financial story is a misplaced argument.

May the soul of Peter Rufai continue to rest in peace.

Imagine growing up all your life calling someone “Daddy” … only to discover much later that he isn't your father.

That was the painful reality for a young man who just found out he is a product of paternity fraud. In shock and anger, he rained heavy curses on his mum's grave, blaming her for deceiving him and destroying his identity.
Paternity fraud doesn't just affect the man who is tricked into fatherhood. It destroys children's trust, shatters families, and leaves scars that may never heal.

When Nigerians complain about politicians, I often remind them that many of us would actually do worse if given the same opportunity.

This trag!c case proves it.

A student misplaced her keys and was in a medical emergency; she urgently needed her insulin. Her friends begged the hostel supervisor for the spare key, but instead of showing compassion, she demanded ₦120,000.

By the time they ran around trying to raise the money and returned, it was already too late. She didn't make it. The school clinic's negligence is another painful story for another day.

UNIZIK must not stop at sacking the supervisor. This is cr!m!nal and should be prosecuted. His greed and wickedness contributed directly to the de@th of a young life, leaving her family and loved ones in tears.

A system that allows this level of heartlessness to go unpunished is broken.
