Navigating the first steps into film and TV can feel overwhelming - especially when the routes in aren’t always clear. In this candid and practical session, hear from four emerging professionals working across editing, locations, production, studio management and programming. From production roles in studios, to out on location, our panel share how they got their foot in the door, what they learnt on the job, and the advice they wish they’d had starting out. Whether you’re fresh out of college or looking to pivot into screen work from another industry, this session offers real-world insights into what it actually takes to begin a career in the film & TV industry and stay in it.

As Lead organiser of VR Manchester, Rob brings together creators, thinkers, and enthusiasts for a night of shared discovery.

Meet some of the VR artists and filmmakers featured in this year's competition, hear about their creative process, and try out the projects yourself in an informal, hands-on setting. Whether you're an industry insider or just curious about virtual reality, this is a chance to experience the work first-hand and connect with others pushing the boundaries of storytelling and technology.
