Couple of signs made today — one’s a surprise, this one’s an order from a loved one (they’ve already seen it). Custom wooden hanging signs, made to order. This was made using laser cutting, hand painting and vinyl :)

CPTSD Awareness Month 🌸
This year I have found out I have CPTSD, among other things. Having a name for it hasn’t magically fixed everything, but it has helped me understand that many of the things I once saw as personal failings were actually survival responses.

Some days I cope. Some days I create, laugh and feel hopeful. Other days my nervous system is loud, ordinary things feel impossible, and simply getting out of bed and getting through the day takes more energy than anyone can see.

Each day is a new day—not a demand to start again perfectly or pretend yesterday didn’t hurt, but another chance to meet myself where I am.

Healing isn’t linear. Progress doesn’t always look productive. Sometimes it looks like resting, asking for help, setting a boundary, or surviving a day you thought would swallow you whole.

We are not broken. We adapted to things we should never have had to endure.

Safety, choice and compassion matter. 🤍

If you’re supporting someone with CPTSD, be consistent, patient and clear. Don’t pressure them to explain, heal faster or “look on the bright side.” Ask what would feel helpful, respect their boundaries, and remember that a response that seems disproportionate may come from a nervous system sensing an old danger—not from them being difficult. You don’t need to fix them; feeling believed, safe and not abandoned in the hard moments can matter more than having the perfect words.
