Riding from Durdle Door toward Weymouth this September on my Suzuki V-Strom 800RE was pure joy. I left the iconic limestone arch behind with the sea breeze at my back and the early autumn sun casting a soft glow over the cliffs. The coast road rolled and curved, each bend opening up new views of golden hillsides and glittering water.
The V-Strom felt effortless—plenty of power for the climbs, steady through the corners, and comfortable enough that I could relax and just enjoy the ride. Traffic was light, the villages quiet, and the whole stretch had that calm, end-of-summer stillness. I stopped a few times just to breathe it in: the rugged coastline, the wide-open sky, the sense of space.
By the time Weymouth came into view, with its sweeping bay and busy harbour, it felt like the ride had carried me not just along the coast but into a different rhythm altogether. It wasn’t about distance or speed—just the freedom of the open road and the beauty of Dorset with a bike that made every mile flow naturally.
