Tinubu’s Second Term Will Ensure Continuous Growth for Nigeria, Says APC Chieftain
Kehinde Olaosebikan, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has expressed strong belief that President Bola Tinubu’s second term will bring lasting growth and development to Nigeria.
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan, Olaosebikan, who was formerly the Chief Press Secretary to the late Oyo State Governor Lam Adesina, stated that by the end of Tinubu's second term in 2031, the president would ensure a smooth leadership transition by selecting a capable successor with qualities similar to those of Babatunde Raji Fashola, the former governor of Lagos State.
He criticized the opposition from some northern politicians, describing it as unproductive and harmful to national development. According to him, allowing Tinubu to complete two constitutional terms is in the best interest of both the North and Nigeria as a whole.
Olaosebikan said Tinubu’s leadership would leave Nigeria in a much better state and establish a foundation for continuous growth through strategic governance and succession planning.
He praised Tinubu’s current policies and bold actions, noting their positive impact on the economy, industry, and commerce. He called on all Nigerians, regardless of region, to support the president through prayers and unity.
He also urged political agitators to abandon their grievances and align with the majority who support Tinubu’s second term.
Reflecting on Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos governor, Olaosebikan recalled how he strategically appointed Fashola, an effective and visionary leader, as his successor in 2007. He said this decision led to consistent progress in Lagos, transforming it into a model state with internally generated revenue growing from around N600 million in 1999 to over N100 billion monthly. In 2024 alone, the state reportedly generated over N1.3 trillion.
Olaosebikan, who previously chaired the Oluyole Local Government Area, emphasized that if Tinubu could achieve long-term success in Lagos over 26 years, the same lasting greatness could be secured for Nigeria under his leadership.
