5:30 alarm. Lesson plans. Camera batteries on charge. 🔋

This is what a day looks like when you’re a primary school teacher and running your own business.

Morning: phonics, times tables and 30 Year 2s who want to tell me about their weekend. 📚

After school: edits, client calls, shoots and content plans for WP Creation. 🎥

Is it tiring? Honestly, yes.
Some days are long. Some days I’m running on coffee and good vibes. ☕

But here’s the thing.
I genuinely love both.

Teaching lights me up.
Creating lights me up.
And I wouldn’t swap either. 🙌
(That part is so ai 😂) but I quite liked the cringe of it

I get tired just like anyone else.
But I try to do it all with a big smile on my face. 😁

Allow me to introduce myself 👋

Some of you know me as Mr P.
Some of you know me as the guy behind the camera.
Truth is, I’m both 🎬

By day I’m a Year 2 teacher and Head of Music.
10 years in the classroom and I still love it.

The rest of the time? I’m building WP Creation.
Videography, photography and social media mentoring, right here in Bristol.

No film school. No fancy course.
Just YouTube, social media and a LOT of trial and error 😅

Three years in and I’ve worked with brands like David Lloyd, Zoggs and CrossFit.
Still pinching myself 🙌

I get more enquiries than I can shoot. 🎥

I’m a part-time primary school teacher. Three days a week I’m in the classroom. So I physically can’t say yes to everyone.

So what do I do?

I pass them on. To people I trust. People I think are brilliant. 🙌

Will those clients build a relationship with them instead? Probably.

And that’s absolutely fine.

Here’s what I’ve learned. There’s SO much work out there right now. Every business needs video. Every brand needs content. Social media has made sure of that. 📱

No one’s stealing anyone’s work. There’s room for all of us.

So share the leads. Big each other up. Support each other online.

Because honestly? Who else is going to? ❤️

Best advice for anyone being filmed. Commit fully. Don’t shy away. The more you bring, the better the reel will be. PTs got right involved this evening and it shows in the final edits.

A phrase I’m hearing more and more lately: “you’re so lucky to have another income.”
This never started as a plan to make money.
I was just filming my local rugby club, Old Elizabethans. Editing videos because I enjoyed it. That was it.
Then the hobby started taking on a life of its own.
What I didn’t realise was how much I’d have to learn. Still do. Every single day.
Do I enjoy it? Yes.
Does enjoying something mean it isn’t hard? No.
Do I cringe at myself when I watch my own videos back? All the time.
Does posting get easier? Yes, slowly.
Do I still have insecurities that get in the way? Constantly.
Social media has been at the heart of this whole journey. It’s opened doors I couldn’t have imagined a few years ago.
But none of it just landed in my lap.
This is a product of my own making. 🙏
