Difference between UK schools and Nigerian schools.

Kids missing school in Nigeria is seen as nothing while the reverse is the case in the UK.
In Nigeria, you can wake up and decide your child won't go to school for a week and there will be no repercussions, infact, when the school shows concern some parents will be like what's their business with why my child isn't in school, it's my child and it's none of the school's business.

In the UK, there should be a tangible reason to why your child is absent from school, if the absence is for a day and you didn't notify the school,
you will get a call from the school to know why your child missed school and when they will be be back.

If the absence lingers for more than two days you will get a mail stating the school's concern and the next step they will take.
Further drop in attendance will warrant a visit to your home while the case will be reported to the police and social services who will take it up from there.

Even if the weather conditions are so bad, so far as schools are not closed, your child has no reason to miss school. Kit them in weather appropriate clothes and send them off to school.
