Meet Emmanuel 👋

Before joining us, Emmanuel had always been curious about coding and the mechanics behind great technology, so when the opportunity came to receive high level training, mentorship, and a supported pathway into industry, he didn’t hesitate.

And from day one, his determination paid off.

During training, Emmanuel discovered a surprising new strength.

While design had always been something he found challenging, it quickly became one of the areas he enjoyed the most thanks to the hands on approach and structured guidance.

Coming from a technical environment, analysis had become a core part of how he worked. That mindset has played a huge role in his success as an engineer, helping him break down problems, spot patterns, and approach tasks strategically.

His journey so far has been defined by growth, support, and opportunity.

Emmanuel describes his time with us as “a very enjoyable experience” where he learned a lot and felt encouraged every step of the way. Onsite with his client, he’s continued to develop through a variety of real world challenges, supported by a team that values his progress and sees his potential.

What he enjoys most about working in tech is the constant variety.

Meet Mikolaj 👋

From patience to perseverance, Mikolaj's journey into tech is all about following passion and persistence.

“I have always been interested in programming,” he says - and that lifelong curiosity eventually led him to take the leap and join _nology.

During his training, Mikolaj learned one of his biggest lessons yet: there are no stupid questions.

Embracing curiosity and asking for help became key to his growth, helping him strengthen both his technical confidence and problem-solving approach.

“My favourite part of working in tech is the process of creating something new,” he shares. That creativity, combined with his calm determination and thoughtful approach, has seen him thrive on-site - and soon, he’ll be joining his client as a permanent employee.

Reflecting on his journey, Mikolaj adds:

Meet Amelia 👋

From 12 years in IT support to completing a Certificate IV in Cyber Security, Amelia's career has always been driven by curiosity and a love for problem-solving. After a redundancy, she decided to take the leap and pivot into a more development-focused role - joining _nology to turn her passion for tech into a new career.

“I’ve always been excited by learning and upskilling, so the opportunity to dive deeper into tech really appealed to me. During my Cyber Security course, I was introduced to Python - I found it challenging, but that’s exactly what sparked my interest in coding.”

Amelia’s background in IT built her methodical, troubleshooting mindset, which has become a huge asset in her development journey.

Her advice for those considering a career in tech is simple.

“Be curious and lean into the fun of figuring things out - even when it’s tough. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone; that’s where the real growth happens.”

Explore how AI can be a force for good 🤖🤲

We were proud to attend the Women.4/STEM event in late October, where innovators, leaders, and changemakers came together to explore how AI is shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The day began with an inspiring overview of the Women4STEM organisation and its initiatives helping more women break into tech.

The Chief Information Officer at AGL then shared insights on the gender pay gap, representation in STEM leadership, and how AI is transforming the energy sector to drive productivity.

The event continued with a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring women in leadership who spoke about AI’s growing influence in their workplaces, followed by roundtable conversations on how AI is shaping our roles today and redefining the career paths of future generations.

Our very own Martyna joined the conversation, reflecting on how technology can empower people, strengthen communities, and build a more equitable world.

Empowering the next generation of women in tech 💜

Last week, we were proud to join Accenture and Digilearning in Manchester as part of Women in Tech Week 2025 - a day dedicated to connection, inspiration, and representation.

The morning kicked off at Accenture’s WeAreTheCity event, where Vanessa Vallely shared insights from the Lovelace Report, sparking important conversations about progress, purpose, and the future of women in technology.

Our _nology team hosted a masterclass designed to equip aspiring technologists with practical tools, insights, and confidence to take their next steps into the industry - introducing our Wall of Strength, a space for attendees to share words of encouragement, celebrate achievements, and remind one another that every step forward counts.

Together, we explored what it really means to build pathways into tech for women from all walks of life, and how visibility, storytelling, and mentorship can change the game for the next generation 👩‍💻

Meet Matthew 👋

Matthew's journey into tech started with a simple recommendation - “I had heard through a friend how good the training and job support was.”

That was enough to spark his curiosity and set him on the path to a brand-new career with _nology.

During the program, Matthew discovered the power of working across the full lifecycle of a project.

What surprised him most was just how engaging the teaching was and how much support came from the people around him throughout the course.

“I would say it has been amazing to be able to transition into this career.”

Now onsite with his client, Matthew has enjoyed diving into a wide variety of work alongside a supportive team.

His advice for future _nologists?

“Just practice as much as possible during the course and take on board the support offered.”
