Our _nologists receive tailored training, industry-recognised certifications, and placements with hiring partners in Banking, Finance, Government, Energy, and Retail, supported by ongoing development and mentoring. We break down barriers, enabling individuals to enter the tech industry regardless of their prior education or experience. Our training cohorts are designed to reflect the communities the tech sector serves - over indexing on diversity measures compared with traditional tech hires - with at least 50% women and non-binary representation, 84% career changers, a vibrant mix of diversity across ethnicities, cultures, social statuses, and LGBTQIA+ identities. In partnership with organisations like Microsoft, Google, Resurgo, The King’s Trust, the National Autistic Society, SheCanCode, and the Tech Council of Australia, we connect with talented individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, transforming lives and making the tech industry more inclusive and reflective of the diverse world we live in.

We’re thrilled to introduce Paige, who’s joined the team with a mission to empower others as they launch their tech careers.

With a strong foundation in recruitment - most recently leading end-to-end hiring and onboarding at BCN Group - Paige brings both experience and passion to the role.

From sourcing and screening to psychometric testing and onboarding, she’s well-versed in helping people find the right fit and thrive.

In her first few days, weeks, Paige has already hit the ground running, confidently connecting with colleagues across the business and meeting our incredible consultants and academy trainees.

Meet Reece 👋

From the heat of the kitchen to the world of software engineering, Reece swapped his chef whites for clean code - and hasn’t looked back since 👨‍🍳⚙️

After completing his training with _nology, Reece joined ClearRoute as an Associate Software Engineer, and has been thriving ever since.

"Working at ClearRoute has been an amazing experience. Everyone I have worked with has been friendly and helpful with anything I have asked."

While stepping into the tech world without prior experience in the technologies was a huge leap, Reece didn’t let that stop him. Instead, he leaned into what he learnt during training - the power of collaboration, asking questions, using resources wisely, and taking feedback onboard.

"My biggest hurdle was not knowing the technology and languages prior to joining, but now being able to do proper work and contribute within my team is incredibly rewarding."

And when it comes to tackling tricky bugs?

“Duck Theory Coding works! Talk to someone or something about your problem in whatever detail you can and more often than not you could solve the problem yourself without anyone even answering you!”

We’re incredibly proud of Reece and the journey he’s on - proof that no matter where you start, there’s always a pathway into tech.

Meet Divya 👋

In 2021, Divya relocated to the UK with her husband and young son, taking time to focus on family and settle into a new country - but as her son grew and began nursery, so did her desire to rebuild her professional life.

After working part-time at Greggs, Divya made the bold decision to pursue a long-term career and joined _nology’s Full Stack Development course in 2024.

“It completely changed my life. The training didn’t just give me technical skills - it gave me the confidence to believe in myself, speak up, and go after opportunities I never imagined were possible.”

Today, Divya is a Junior Software Engineer working on government digital services, supporting policy-aligned tech systems and ensuring accessibility standards are met.

She balances her tech career with motherhood - sometimes even using her lunch breaks for the school run - and has recently moved to Newcastle to work in a hybrid environment.

“I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a supportive and friendly team. Not only have I learned so much from them, but I’ve also had the chance to pass on some of my knowledge to newer members - something I never thought I’d be doing so soon in my tech journey.”

Meet Luke 👋

After feeling unchallenged in his previous career path, Luke took inspiration from past _nologists and made the bold decision to pivot into tech.

"The most important lesson I learnt was that if you want to learn a skill; there is no substitute for effort and practice."

Coming from a hospitality background, Luke brought strong communication skills into the world of software development. This has helped him thrive - both during training and now onsite - as he continues to contribute to meaningful projects and grow his technical capabilities.

“I’m surprised at how far I was able to go with no prior coding knowledge at all.”

For anyone on the fence about taking the leap into tech, Luke’s message is clear:

“As someone who had no prior software development experience I was hesitant to take the leap. But after everything I have seen I know that it's a great place to be.”

Meet Rebecca 👋

Before making the leap into tech, Rebecca was working as an accountant in Sydney. But something bigger was calling - a chance to create meaningful solutions, not just use them.

"What drew me to tech was the opportunity to solve real-world problems in meaningful, tangible ways. I wanted to be a part of building solutions, not just using solutions."

Drawn to _nology’s mission to democratise access to tech and champion diversity and inclusion, Rebecca joined the program to turn curiosity into capability.

“These skills have equipped me to approach technical challenges holistically, looking at the pros and cons of various solutions, while ensuring clarity and precision.”

Her journey with _nology hasn’t just been about picking up new languages or frameworks - it’s been about persistence, resilience and discovering new sides of herself.

“Stay curious and don’t be afraid to feel uncomfortable – growth happens when you push through the uncertainty. My experience with _nology has been really transformative. It has challenged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it has also given me the confidence to achieve things I didn't think were possible.”
