JuSCOOLRADIO & Eyes of Many CIC Statement on Notting Hill Carnival 2025 – Oxford Gardens

On Sunday, 24 August, JuSCOOLRADIO and Eyes of Many CIC arrived at Oxford Gardens under the assurance that Hi-Grade Sound retained legal rights to operate, as stated to us in writing prior to the event. Unfortunately, despite these assurances, the legislation team and police instructed a shutdown.

This resulted in significant loss of time, money, and resources, with equipment packed away and valuable staff and mentees being sent home or left to salvage the day by enjoying the wider carnival. Adding to the impact, the sound system suffered serious quality and technical issues, leaving both artists and audience disappointed.

Several special guest artists and respected record labels—who had travelled to attend—were left without the platform they had been promised. We had to explain the situation on the day, which was embarrassing and damaging to the professional reputation of our network.

Decision to Step Back

After careful review, JuSCOOLRADIO and Eyes of Many CIC have decided to take a well-needed break from working with Hi-Grade Sound at Oxford Gardens.

Should future collaboration be considered, major changes must be implemented, including:
• Clearer communication and earlier planning
• Stronger legal and technical compliance
• Immediate improvement in sound quality and professional event management

JuSCOOLRADIO and Eyes of Many CIC remain committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and inspiring cultural experiences for the community and the wider music industry.
