Unfortunately I’ve had to make the very tough decision to leave Bodyblitz Gym.

I’ve been at Bodyblitz for nearly 4 years now however I’ve decided to move away on the 4th of August.

The last few years have been a blast and I can’t thank Paul and everyone at the gym for the support they’ve shown me the past couple of years. From being a young apprentice to taking the classes and training my own clients, the gym has been great to me! It was a very tough decision but it’s not goodbye, it’s bye for now.

But on a more positive note, I’m looking forward to the next couple of months. I’ve got some good plans in place going forward and I’m looking forward to it! Keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of days!

Again a massive thank you to Paul and all the staff at Bodyblitz for the past couple of years!

Looking to improve your strength?

Here’s my top 5 tips to do so:

1.) Strength train 2/3x a week!

It’s no good training strength once a week or even every other week. You need to consistently train and develop strength every week. With this being said don’t over train strength and ensure you have 48 hours between sessions to allow for correct recovery.

2.) Progressive Overload

You may hear this term a lot and you’re unsure how to carry it out. But for the body to become stronger you must put it under stress to allow physical adaptations to occur. Make sure that either week on week you’re either increasing the volume, the intensity or the load.

3.) De-load Week

It’s important that every 3-6 weeks you allow for lower intensity and lower volume week to allow for the fatigue which your body accumulates over the past few weeks to dissipate. This will also help prevent overworking injuries such as stress fractures.

4.) Correct Nutrition

The nutrition side is key for aiding strength development. It’s crucial you’re eating the correct amount of protein to ensure the broken muscle tissues are being repaired and strengthened. It’s recommended that you eat 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight. E.G. a 200 pound person would aim to eat 200g of protein. Carbohydrates shouldn’t be cut down as you may have heard on the internet. They’re your crucial energy source and will allow you to train strength to your full potential.

5.) Plan Ahead

It’s important that you’ve got a good training programme set so that you’re training efficiently. This will ensure you’re training on the correct days to allow for the right amount of recovery. This will also ensure that you’re sticking to progressive overload and you’re developing week on week.

If you have any other questions, just drop me a message and I’ll be more than happy to help 📲
