Rock legends, Def Leppard, have finally taken their rightful place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! In a star-studded ceremony, the band was honoured with the 2,824th star, cementing their legacy in music history.

The entire band – Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell, and Rick Allen – were there to witness this incredible moment, with tributes from the likes of Jon Bon Jovi.

In a truly moving speech, Joe Elliott made sure the band's founding members were remembered, dedicating the star to original guitarist Pete Willis and the late, great Steve Clark.

Joe’s words said it all: "So, from all of us up here, including Pete Willis and the late-great Steve Clark, we all say to each and every one of you... to our incredible, loving fan base out there, two words - thank you." ❤️

The bond between rock royalty was also on full display. Jon Bon Jovi shared amazing stories of their 40-year friendship, calling them "brothers from across the ocean" and reminiscing about the wild days of the MTV 'Gold Rush' while making classics like ‘Hysteria’ and ‘New Jersey’.

Their star is perfectly placed at 1750 N. Vine Street, right in front of the iconic Capitol Records Building – a fitting spot for these rock icons!

To celebrate, Def Leppard are coming HOME for a massive UK tour in June and July 2026! They'll be hitting:

· Belfast
· Glasgow
· SHEFFIELD
· London
· Birmingham
· Manchester

With Extreme as very special guests on all dates, this is a double-headliner you do NOT want to miss!

PLUS... Joe Elliott recently confirmed to our own Planet Rock that new Def Leppard music is on the way! We can expect a couple of new songs before the tour.

Northern Rocks Radio
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of a true rock and roll legend.John Lodge, the beloved bassist, vocalist, and songwriter of The Moody Blues, has died at the age of 82.

His family confirmed the sad news today, stating he passed away "suddenly and unexpectedly," surrounded by his loved ones and the timeless sounds of The Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly.

A Birmingham-born rocker who helped define a generation's sound, Lodge was far more than a musician. His family shared that his greatest joys were his wife, Kirsten, his children, and his grandchildren. He was a man with a "massive heart," who never lost his passion for the stage, famously describing himself as ‘Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’.

A Legacy in Sound

Joining The Moody Blues in 1966, Lodge was instrumental in crafting the band's iconic prog-rock sound. His powerful bass lines and songwriting were the backbone of classics like:
•The anthemic "Ride My See-Saw"
•The beautiful "Candle of Life"
•And of course, his contributions to the landmark 1967 album 'Days of Future Passed,' which gave the world the eternal masterpiece, "Nights in White Satin."

His work not only filled arenas but has continued to resonate across decades, a true testament to his talent.

More Than a Musician

The family's statement painted a beautiful picture of a devoted family man. He adored performing alongside his band and son-in-law, Jon Davison of YES, and found immense pride in working with his own children. His family asks that we remember him with his own song, 'Whispering Angels,' as we all take a moment to reflect on his incredible life.

At Northern Rocks Radio, we will continue to spin the records that John Lodge helped create—the songs that became the soundtrack to so many of our lives. His music is his immortality.

We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all the fans around the world who are feeling this loss today.

🎸 Happy Birthday to the one and only 'Diamond Dave' David Lee Roth! 🎸

The legendary frontman was born on this day in 1954, and rock & roll hasn't been the same since! As the voice of Van Halen, he gave us the iconic, high-flying US No.1 hit 'Jump' – a song that still gets everyone on their feet.

But Diamond Dave's solo career was just as flashy, with massive hits like his cover of 'California Girls', 'Yankee Rose', and the feel-good anthem 'Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody'.

Let's not forget Van Halen's monumental 1978 debut album, a true rock masterpiece that has sold over 12 million copies.

From ruling the stadium rock scene in the '80s to surprising us with a cameo on The Sopranos and even becoming a licensed EMT in New York, David Lee Roth has lived a life as colorful as his stage outfits!

Turn it up loud and wish a happy birthday to a true rock icon!

R.I.P.Ace Finchum, former drummer of glam metal icons Tigertailz, has passed away at 62.

Northern Rocks Radio is saddened to report the passing of Ace Finchum, the original and iconic drummer for the Welsh glam metal legends Tigertailz. He was 62 years old.

The news was shared by his former bandmates, with vocalist Steevi Jaimz announcing, "I am sorry to be the bearer of tragic, heart-breaking news... But sadly Ace passed away at the weekend."

Jay Pepper, the band's guitarist and constant member, penned a powerful and moving tribute on the official Tigertailz page, remembering Ace as the wild and funny "heartbeat" of their early sound. He reflected on their time together, saying, “From the chaos of ‘Young & Crazy’ to the fire of ‘Bezerk’, we lived those moments like our lives depended on it... Ace was wild, funny, unpredictable, and always full of spirit. Those days, that laughter, that noise — they’ll stay with me forever.”

Ace (real name Stephen Wayne Finchum) was there from the very beginning, joining the band in 1984. He was the powerhouse behind the kit on the three albums that defined Tigertailz for a generation of fans:
•‘Young & Crazy’ (1987)
•‘Bezerk’ (1990)
•‘Banzai!’ (1991)

It was the classic ‘Bezerk’ album that catapulted them into the charts, cracking the UK Top 40 and gifting us anthems like ‘Love Bomb Baby’ and ‘Heaven’—songs that remain staples on rock radio and in the hearts of fans worldwide.

His energetic, spirit-filled playing was a driving force in the glam metal scene, and his legacy is etched into the vinyl of that era.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, former bandmates, and all the Tigertailz fans around the world who loved him.

Turn it up loud today for Ace Finchum. Rest in Rock and Roll. 🎸🥁✨

🚨 Tour Update: Ace Frehley Cancels All 2025 Dates 🚨

We have an important update on a true guitar hero. The one and only Ace Frehley has made the difficult decision to cancel all of his planned 2025 tour dates.

The reason cited is "ongoing medical issues." This follows a "minor fall" he had in his studio a few weeks back, which caused him to cancel a one-off fair show. It seems that incident was part of a larger health concern that requires his full attention now.

A short but definitive statement was posted to his channels, pulling the plug on the whole tour. We wish The Spaceman all the best and hope he takes all the time he needs to recover.

In related news, Ace has been making headlines for other reasons. He told Guitar World that he flat-out declined an invitation to the KISS fan club event this November, saying, "They asked me and I declined." He also stood by his criticism that the band's final show should have been at a legendary arena like Madison Square Garden, not a smaller venue in Vegas.

Turn it up for Ace today! What track are you spinning? "New York Groove," "Shock Me," or a KISS classic?

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Ace! 🎸

Hey! ho.. Let's Go...

Happy Heavenly Birthday to a true punk rock pioneer, Johnny Ramone! 🎸

Born John Cummings on this day in 1948, Johnny was the driving engine of the Ramones. His relentless, downstroke-only guitar style didn't just define a band—it defined a genre. The Ramones are credited with creating the blueprint for punk rock, and Johnny's raw power chord anthems were at the heart of it.

While we all know classics like "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "I Wanna Be Sedated," it was 1977's "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" that became a landmark hit, blasting punk energy into the mainstream.

Though he was taken from us too soon after a battle with prostate cancer on September 15, 2004, his legacy is eternal. Today, we celebrate the man in the leather jacket who taught us that three chords are all you need.

In honor of his birthday, we're spinning "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" and other Ramones classics all day long.

Turn it up loud for Johnny! What's your favorite Ramones track?
