Fearful of getting injured during playing? Want to play Netball as long as possible? Lift weights to help reduce the risk of injury.

Increasing strength reduces the risk of injury (Morris et al, 2022). Provides more stability around joints.

Don’t worry about having to become a weight lifter or bulking up. Simply 2 x 45min whole body sessions per week is ideal.

Looking to increase speed to beat opposition around the court and jump higher to get the ball. Then look to start lifting weight.

Increasing strength increases the amount of force the body can create. More force means more power and therefore faster movements and higher jumps.

Research has shown increasing strength correlates with being faster at accelerating and changing direction plus jumping higher.

This could be the need to push into higher teams or really establishing a position!
