Of the decision to release a live album, Kerry from the band recalls a night supporting .lunch.official :

"As we entered The Portland, I knew it was going to be a special night.

Sitting in the corner, was the formidable Lydia Lunch. We went over and introduced ourselves; 'do you like being left alone before your gigs or are we ok to sit down with you?' 'Listen, if I want you to f**k off, i'll tell you to f**k off'. I immediately fall in love with Lydia Lunch. She's razor sharp, charismatic and absolutely deadly (the irish deadly).

I'm told by the promoter, the venue has nearly 200 pre sales, which is pretty rare, so there was a bit of a buzz.
As the crowd piled in, they were varied but had one thing in common, they were proper muso's, very phew phones came out and everyone was in it to win it.

I hadn't realised the set had been recorded until a few weeks later but once we realised, we and the label decided it should be a 12" live album."
