There are a lot of unsettling AI related stories around the creative industries out there at the moment. Major labels in talks with AI song makers (where will that leave independent artists who don't get a kick back?), friends in the film business posting about studio layoffs in the US, bad AI images and videos all over Instagram/TikTok reels... What we think is this: If you care about real human made music, look to the humans, follow indie labels and artists and quality content makers, buy books from new authors, buy art from young painters, go to gigs, go to art galleries, listen to humans talk on podcasts... AND think about what the price of 3 Coffee's can do for a band who spent 6 months making an album and are asking for a tenner to own it.... install Bandcamp on your phone and use it for music discovery instead of Spotify radio (they gonna feed you AI music before we know it). Find projects to support. Don't despair...art is not dead! Noice waaaan! Joel and TA (gif via Jeremy Tuplin)
