Rydym yn gobeithio bydd y rhai nad ydynt yn aelod yn gweld gwerth cydweithio ac yn penderfynu ymuno, mi fydd yna adegau pan fydd gwybodaeth ar gael i aelodau yn unig. Mae hyn hefy

d yn gyfle i rannu gwybodaeth am beth sydd yn digwydd yn y diwydiant o ran cyfleodd gwaith ac unrhyw ddigwyddiadau gan yn aml yr undeb yw'r cyntaf i glywed am y rhain. Rydym hefyd yn gweld y safle fel lle medrwn sgwrsio mewn modd anffurfiol a hwyliog. This site has been set up by the BECTU Freelance Branches in Wales so that we can stay in touch and talk about the industry in Wales. The site is open to anyone whether they are a BECTU member or a member one of our sister unions or not. We hope that those who aren't members will see the value of working together and will decide to join and there may be occasions where information may have to be limited to members only. This is also an opportunity to let you know what is going on in the industry in the way of job opportunities a digwtdduaday which the union is often the first to hear about. We hope it will also be a place where we can chat in an informal and fun way.

Solidarity with IWGB Game Workers!

Equity stands in solidarity with the IWGB Game Workers Union following reports of union-busting at Rockstar Games, the makers of Grand Theft Auto. This fight is our fight, as workers and representatives of video game performers. We are not going away.

Today, Arts Council of Wales has launched Major Productions – a new fund shaped by sector feedback, designed to support the most ambitious live work in Wales. Grants of £100,000–£300,000 are available for theatre, dance and musical theatre projects that show bold ambition, strong partnerships and artistic excellence.

Dafydd Rhys, Chief Executive of Arts Council of Wales said: “Major Productions reflects part of our vision for the arts in Wales, as a place where the most ambitious and exciting work is created and shared.

“This fund has been shaped by listening to the sector and responding to what organisations told us they need. It was also one of the recommendations in the review we commissioned into English language theatre in Wales.

“With £600,000 available, we know competition for the Major Productions fund will be strong. Wales is full of extraordinary talent and creativity, and we encourage organisations to review the guidance and see if this opportunity is right for them.”

Applications open 3 November 2025. Closing date for applications is Wednesday, 28 January 2026. Find out more here: https://bit.ly/43kbo08

📣 Have your say on the future of culture in Wales!

With growing recognition that more needs to be done to support culture – following findings in the Future Generations Report 2025 and calls for a Culture Bill – the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales has asked The Audience Agency to research how we can better protect, promote and enhance culture for generations to come.

They want to hear from everyone with a stake in Wales’ cultural future, whether you see yourself as someone who engages with “culture” or not. Whether you work in the sector, public services, or elsewhere.

🗓️ Deadline for contributions: Friday 31 October
