Great music was enjoyed by all this past Thursday when the Jazz Collective played host to drummer Michael J. Reed at the Peacock Cafe. Originally from Toledo, this young gentleman brought fire and youthful exuberance to a receptive audience. Accompanying Michael were two more great young musicians from the Motor City, Brandon Rose playing fat bass licks, acoustic and electric, and Jordan Anderson pulling out a variety of sounds on the keyboard.

You can watch this exciting trio this Sunday night at 8:30 PM on Buckeye Cable channels 109 and 609 digital. The Peacock is the place you want to be on Thursday nights starting at 7:00 for splendid live jazz, brought to you by the Jazz Collective and Jazz Around The World!

Thursday, September 14th. The Peacock Cafe will feature another night of sizzling live jazz, presented by the Jazz Collective. Come and check out jazz trumpeter Russ Macklem, with special guest, saxophonist Jeffery Trent. First show begins at 7:00 PM, get there early for best seating. Admission is always free! At Lucille’s Jazz Lounge in Toledo enjoying the artistry of the great pianist Johnny O’Neal. Among a career that has lasted over 50 years, Johnny has played with greats such as Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, he appeared in the movie “Ray” with Jamie Foxx, portraying the immortal Toledo jazz legend Art Tatum.
