Part 3 of the Heat Seeker 5 build 🚀

This time, we’re fitting the matching MEPS F405 flight controller, wiring up the remaining electronics and completing the final assembly.

With four UARTs, there’s plenty of connectivity for the O4 system, Crossfire and GPS, while dedicated connections for the beeper and RGB control allow me to add everything this build needs without overcrowding the board.

With the electronics now finished and the final touches fitted, the Heat Seeker 5 is officially complete.

Next up: finding out if it flies as good as it looks.

The Cauldron has to be one of the most unique locations I’ve ever flown. Dropping beneath the cliffs with the quad directly below me and buried inside a sea cave definitely had me watching those signal bars 😂

Then there’s the genuinely unnerving sensation of flying while standing up, right beside the edge of a massive hole with the sea echoing underneath you.

Yes...that reaction at the beginning was completely genuine and why I love FPV!

An incredible place and easily one of the wildest flights I’ve done. Glad to tick this one off the list!

Part 2 of the Heat Seeker 5 build 🚀

This time, we’re fitting the MEPS NeonCore 60A ESC, tinning the pads and wiring up the MEPS 2306 1950KV motors.

This ESC should be perfect for the mix of freestyle and aggressive cinematic flying Heat Seeker 5 is being built for. Its 60A continuous and 80A burst output provides plenty of headroom for hard acceleration, while the CNC aluminium heatsink helps manage temperatures when it’s being pushed.

Next up: fitting the flight controller and bringing Heat Seeker 5 to life.

Perched out on the Pembrokeshire coast with nothing but open sea in front of it, this one was pretty hard to beat.

Back with a cinematic take on The Crumlin Navigation.

Built over a century ago and once at the heart of the South Wales coal industry, it now stands as one of the valley’s most striking historic sites.

Behind these buildings is a dedicated team of volunteers working to protect, restore and eventually bring them back into use for the community.

Want to see it for yourself? Visits can be arranged properly by contacting The Friends of The Navigation through their website. All they ask is a donation towards the continued preservation of the site.

Please don’t enter without permission,the money raised from arranged visits helps support the future of this incredible piece of Welsh industrial history.
