Arnside Parish Council have a vacancy for a Parish Councillor. Would you like to get involved in helping make decisions about the local community? Helping to make changes that will improve the lives of local residents? Then this could be for you.

Parish Councillors are unpaid volunteers and there are no special qualifications required, although training is available for new councillors to help understand the responsibilities of the role.

Currently the Parish Council consists of eight councillors and three paid employees: Parish Clerk, Finance Officer and Cemetery Officer. The Council meets at least once a month and meetings may last around 2 hours.

Always enjoyed playing cricket? AgeUK are introducing a slower version of the game for the over 50's.
Starting next Monday, 7th July at Heversham Sports Hall from 2pm-3.30pm, the sessions will take place weekly.

Arnside Helpways Transport is a scheme run by volunteer local drivers, helping those unable to drive to attend medical appointments locally. The areas covered are: Arnside, Milnthorpe, Grange, Carnforth, Kendal, Lancaster and, occasionally, Barrow, Blackpool and Preston. There is a modest, not-for-profit, charge for each journey.
Today, the volunteers had a get-together. Can you help?
They are always looking for new drivers so, if you are interested in joining the group, please contact the Secretary, David Gee at [email protected] for a short application form.
There is no minimum commitment, and you are unlikely to be called upon more than once or twice a month.

We’re redesigning our waste and recycling services for Westmorland and Furness and would love to hear your thoughts on wheelie bins, green waste charges and how often we should collect your waste and recycling.
