Struggle with editing? Give this a go.

Instagram recently dropped a brand new feature in app which will help you create better Reels.

Follow these steps and give it a go!

1. Go to your home page, hit the + and Reel
2. Select your clips you want to add to make a Reel
3. Hit the First Draft button which will be a white circle if you’ve loads of clips selected
4. Voila ✨ it will have pulled highlights and cut silences from your clips
5. All you need to do now is choose an audio, add text / voiceover / captions and that’s it. No hours of editing!

I really want to know your thoughts 🧠

Should everything just be tagged as AI generated now? Regardless of how much or how little it’s being used?

I think we can all agree that AI can have its downside but for small businesses it can be a lifesaver.

And for me as a SMM it helps me with copy writing for captions for the industries where I don’t know everything.

I ghosted my socials.

Went to Canada with my family for 3 weeks. Switched off completely. Didn’t post. Didn’t overthink it. Didn’t apologise for it.

And tbh it’s the best thing I could have done.

But I’m back (because bills need to be paid😆) and I’m coming back with something I think every small business owner who finds Instagram overwhelming needs.

Swipe if you want the full chaotic version 🤣

The short version? I studied Marketing back in 2010 when social media wasn’t even a module. Spent years working in marketing, figuring out Instagram the hard way, teaching myself CapCut, learning what worked and what didn’t across every type of small business you can imagine.

Throw in a second child and self-esteem on the floor, its suprising what you can do.

Between the school run, the two kids, and a laptop at the kitchen table, I decided to go freelance.

Was it perfectly planned? Absolutely not.

Did I have everything figured out? Not even close.

Did I do it anyway? Clearly. 🫠

The first few months were equal parts exciting and terrifying. Imposter syndrome at 11pm. Filming reels during nap times. Wondering if anyone would actually trust me with their business.

And then they did. And then more did. And somehow chaotically, imperfectly, stubbornly Digital by Aimee became a real thing and people started saying to me ‘I love your page’.

So I kept going, quit my job and went self employed.

Was it worth it? Every single day. 🤍

And Digital by Aimee is here to stay.
