The head of Instagram has recently said that hashtags are not as important to a post's success on the platform, and I wanted to share my thoughts on this. 🤔

It seems to be all about AI-driven content and organic engagement these days, which might be why hashtags are now less favored. Hashtags can sometimes show your content to an audience that isn't truly aligned with your brand, even if they follow that specific tag.

For me, success has always been about focusing on quality over quantity. Here's what I believe is key to a truly optimised Instagram strategy:

1️⃣ Be Strategic with Your Content: Ensure every post aligns with your brand pillars and meets a purpose.
2️⃣ Master the Caption: A strong caption with a clear call to action is crucial for driving real engagement.
3️⃣ Review Your Analytics: Use Meta Business Suite to understand what's working and what isn't. What performs well on Instagram might be different on Facebook, and your data holds the answers.
4️⃣ Utilise New Features: Stay updated! Make sure you're using all the latest functionality, such as new Reels edits and effects. If your app gets glitchy, it's a good sign it needs an update to get you access to the newest features.🤖

So while the role of hashtags may be evolving, there's so much more you can be doing to ensure your content is seen by the right people and that your Instagram is fully optimised.

Business is about people. It's not about profits (well it is) but to get there you need customers, and you can't get there if you don't get people.

Meet Tracey, the owner of who has been working in her industry for DECADES.

For those who know, I have an employed job in Gravesend and met Tracey from browsing in her shop. We got chatting and she made me feel so comfortable. Fast forward to another conversation when we discovered a mural friend, my client who have also been in business for decades.

I adore Tracey for her. She just has the most welcoming and heartfelt way about her. Everyone who walk in her shop is treated with the same care and love. We've chatted about social media and business with a few hints here and there, but have said for a while 'lets meet up' - well today was that day.

The date was set, all we need to know now was is it rose or white 🍷 as we chatted over business, strategy and life for 3 hours. I've learnt so much more about Tracey this evening which confirms everything I suspected anyway, she loves people - helping people.

Business is hard and to hear how she has navigated challenges over the years just is testament to that core principle of people. When it comes to marketing, anyone can take a pretty pic and edit a nice advert, but it's the story behind the scenes that counts. I can't wait to share more of Tracey's stories. Watch this space 🩷💞
