It's National Blood Week and we want to recognise the 850 blood donation jobs already completed this year by the team at Severn Freewheelers.

Throughout 2025, the over 100 volunteers covering our local area will continue to work every day to provide quick and safe transportation so that patient can receive the life-saving treatments and blood donations that they need.🩸

You can help by signing up as a Severn Freewheeler volunteer or generously giving blood.

Come and meet YOUR Blood Bike volunteers at Marlborough (10am till 4pm) tomorrow, Saturday 17 May. See the BMW motorbikes / our car, with the on duty bike and rider calling in, if they can. How moving ❤️ 💙 💜

Hannah Maddams, the daughter of Angie, shared a powerful memory of her mum’s last days at Prospect Hospice. “It was so sunny on Mum’s last day. She was outside, soaking up the sun. She just loved being outside.”

Angie’s family found comfort and warmth in the care they received, with the amazing nurses guiding them every step of the way. They could spend those precious final moments together as a family without having to worry about anything.

Now, we’re asking for your help to make sure other families receive the same support. By playing the Spring Raffle, you’ll be helping provide specialist care to those in need – and you could win up to £3,000 in cash prizes!

Due to repeated disturbances we now believe the Stone Curlew on our reserve plot have abandoned their usual nesting area. It’s crucial ALL nesting birds are left undisturbed to prevent abandonment.

We are shining a light on Severn Freewheelers, a charity made up of volunteers who support our patients by transporting blood, medicines, samples and breast milk around the south west of England.🏍

In 2024, the incredible team carried out 2,180 trips - down from 2,776 in 2023.

This year, the 107 volunteers covering our local area will work every day to provide quick and safe transportation so that patient can receive the life-saving treatments and blood donations that they need.🩸
