Follow this 10-step plan to grow your business on social media.

1. Update your bio. Tell people how you can help them and don't forget a link to your website.

2. Post regularly. Whether it's twice a week or twice a day, be consistent.

3. Don't engage with your competitors. These are not your ideal audience.

4. Tailor your content to your audience.

5. Use Reels, they still have better reach than static posts.

6. Create a bank of images and videos you can use in the coming months.

7. Review your strategy regularly.

8. Use keywords in your captions that relate to your target audience.

9. Engage with your target customer. Find relevant profiles and hashtags and comment on posts.

10. Consider using influencers. They can help you to reach your target audience.

If you have it's not you. The way people use social media is changing.

People comment on posts a lot less than they used to. They prefer DMs. Follow these tips to get your engagement up again:

1. Before posting, think - would YOU comment on your post?
2. Create content that people can share. Make it useful, funny, or something that makes them look good.
3. Reply to any DMs or messages you receive. Be helpful.
4. Use Google Analytics to track your data.
5. Make your content interesting. Think catchy headlines, graphics, and messages.

You receive a message from someone who appears to be a real person. They say they bought your products a few weeks ago and emailed you to complain, but you haven't replied.

They then send a link or a ZIP file showing what is wrong with the product. DO NOT OPEN THE LINK!

It is a scam and could be used around Black Friday.

1. Have a strategy and review it regularly. Every post should have a reaction goal: what you want to achieve from it. Use a CTA (call to action) to tell your audience what you want them to do.

2. Show up and be consistent, whether this is posting daily or three times a week.

3. Test what works. Look at your analytics and create content based on what works for you.

4. Engage with your audience. Join conversations and be social. Find where your audience hangs out and comment on posts. Don't spam though!

5. Create shareable content. People want to be entertained on social media and not sold to.

6. Use a mix of content, photos, videos and carousels. They are a great way to reach new people.

This has to be one of the most annoying actions and an easy way to annoy your followers.

It started with "everyone", this is a similar thing and equally as frustrating for those who follow you.

Trust me, it's not a recommended strategy.
