The fabulous Mark Radcliffe and David Boardman joined me in the van at Beardy Folk Festival on a hot summer solstice afternoon! 😊😍

What no one knows is, after this recording, they played a centuries old ritualistic folk song to the pagan god of humidity, summoning a month long blistering heat for this fair Isle!! 😂
The tradition of the song (from 1666AD) stipulates it would only be effective if played in a black chariot, by the Pines of the Bearded Folk!! Uncanny!! 😂😂😎

Mark and David are playing upcoming festivals in Cornwall this month, get out and see them play live if you can! I think they’re doing a song about rain soon! 😆😉

It was great to have Finn Collinson join me in the van this midsummer at Beardy Folk Festival 😊☀️
Finn played a lovely tune on his recorder, doing great justice to centuries old music, and capturing the essence of traditional folk to carry it forward! 🥰

Much like today, it was a hot hot hot time at Beardy Folk Festival a couple of weeks ago, and Lauren South added an extra level of warmth when she joined me for a quick chat, and to play her lovely song, “Lamp Lighter” 🥰 ❤️

Well...what can I say? 😍
These ladies were absolutely fantastic, and the power of their combined vocals nearly knocked myself and my camera over!
They did an amazing set of songs on the acoustic stage at Beardy Folk Festival, and it was great they could all join me in the van! The fabulous She Shanties 🥰

The exceptionally harmonious Motel Sundown joined Vantastic Dayz after playing the acoustic stage at Beardy Folk Festival on 20th June! Absolutely gorgeous! 🥰
And just to update,…they’re still in the van! I’m keeping them fed and watered in between my road trips, and they’re playing many lovely songs for me whilst I’m out and about! 😂🎵🎶❤️

Pons Aelius were game for squeezing themselves into the van down at Beardy Folk Festival, after the reassurance that 6 musicians and instruments do fit in there! 😆
It was absolutely brilliant to have them join me, do check their socials to find out where they’re playing next! 🥰

The Friday saw a total of 16 musicians in all grace the Chevy, which was Vantastic!!! 😍🤩😄

Next in the van at Beardy Folk Festival over the summer solstice weekend was Anna Renae 🥰❤️
Anna played a superb set of songs on the Acoustic stage, and it was delightful to have her play in the van!
