This is exactly what I started Big Duffs Fishing for – the younger generation of anglers. A place where they aren’t judged for asking questions and where they can truly learn.

Truth is, messages like this make my whole day. From the hundreds of hours I spend on TikTok live streams, to making videos, to replying to messages – it’s all worth it when I see the impact.

These are the next generation of anglers, and we owe it to them to make sure they not only learn the right way but also enjoy every moment of it.

Messages like this remind me why I do what I do.

The North East Derybyshire Council has decided to implement a fishing ban on the Wingerworth Lido after decades of fishing to create a "Biodiversity Hub" 😡

Despite the local angling club restoring the lake to its current glory, already establishing a wildlife haven, the council are ready to take that away, and they need your help!

We know how efficient council-led projects are 💩 so let's make an example of this to stop it happening elsewhere as these lakes are the social hub for local communities 🎣

This is really starting to gather momentum now. The anglers are doing an amazing job and I’m so proud of the support that’s come together.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure about speaking up at first, but a little voice in my head kept saying, this isn’t right. And I’m glad I listened.

To everyone who has shown support in saving the Wingerworth Lido – thank you.
