It is highly important as you grow your business to train yourself to think about your actions and reactions before you act!
Here are a few scenarios to get you thinking:
▪️You are commuting to a job location in your branded workwear and van, (covered in sign writing)…someone cuts you off on the road and road rage kicks in…we won’t create a full story for this example…but the person you are now in dispute with, feels they done no wrong, takes a photo of your van/you and posts an angry post on social media for all to see.
▪️You are a tradesman/woman, noticing habits from your potential & existing clients.. chasing payments for jobs done and promises to pay..clients telling you they have to cancel your services as something has come up…but they’ve opted for a cheaper alternative, diy or handyman. You feel everyone asking for quotations but not getting the business. Finally, clients expecting everything for nothing. You are getting fed up and decide to put a personal rant (uncensored) on social media for all to see (on your business and personal profiles).
The problem is…once something is posted, you can delete later, but sometimes the damage is done! Screenshots have been taken and there are shared posts everywhere! People start talking…your name is now known and it’s not positive!
Your personal and online activity Is very important for your brand, so please consider everything you are, say and do…STOP & THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!
▪️Do my posts have relevance to my services/brand?
▪️Will this have a negative impact on my services/brand?
▪️Can I make changes to resolve the issues rather than publically complain about them?
Consider the fact that someone could be looking at your social profiles right now and the minute something causes offence/ is not relevant or looks negative…they will simply move on to the next business!
Remember, potential customers are very likely to look at your personal profiles to get an idea of who you are as a person. Make sure it reflects positively!
