There is a quiet promise woven through Scripture.

God is not distant from the heart that turns toward Him.

He draws near to those who seek Him.

Not because we have found the perfect words,
or the perfect devotion,

but because He delights to be found by those who look for Him.

“The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.”
— Psalm 145:18 (ESV)

The heart that seeks Him will not search in vain.

He is nearer than we think.

The cross reveals both the weight of sin and the depth of God’s love.

Sin could not simply be ignored.
Justice had to be satisfied.

Yet God, in His mercy, provided what we could never offer ourselves.

Where judgment was deserved,
the Lamb was given.

Jesus did not come by accident.
He came as the sacrifice love had already prepared.

“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”
— John 1:29 (ESV)

At the cross we see justice fulfilled and mercy extended.

The gospel does not simply forgive.

It brings us near.

Through Christ, the distance is removed.
The outsider is welcomed.
The stranger becomes family.

Scripture tells us that those who belong to Christ are no longer wandering without a place.

We are brought into the household of God.

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”
— Ephesians 2:19 (ESV)

In Christ, you are not distant.

You are welcomed home.

The road that leads us back to the Father was opened by Christ Himself.

Through the cross, mercy made a way where there had been none.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
— John 14:6 (ESV)

The way home is not something we build through effort.

It is the path Christ Himself has opened.

And the invitation still stands.

It reveals the truth about everything.
It shows us the weight of sin-that it could not simply be overlooked.

It reveals the holiness of God-perfect, righteous, and just.

And at the same time, it unveils a mercy deeper than we could ever imagine.

At the cross, justice and mercy meet.

The Lamb of God stands in our place.

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
