🚨 CALDERDALE ENERGY PARK (CEP): Planning Timeline.

​The official DCO (Development Consent Order) Timetable for the proposed Calderdale Energy Park wind farm. As a major infrastructure project, this decision bypasses local councils and goes straight to Central Government.

​Here is what the roadmap looks like:

🗓️​July 2026 (Completed but flawed with errors): The Statutory Consultation window closed on July 8th after being extended due to identified data concerns and developer errors.

🗓️​November 2026: The developer plans to submit the application to the Planning Inspectorate, carrying heavy risks if previous flaws aren't fixed.

🗓️​December 2026: A 28-day window for the inspectorate to accept or reject the proposal.

🗓️​Spring/Summer 2027: A formal 6-month Public Examination with open hearings for evidence.

🗓️​Spring 2028: The final verdict will be handed down by the Secretary of State.

Langroyd Hall Development: The planning application submitted on behalf of the Fortress Group was approved by Colne & District Committee last night.

​The development will consist of:
• The Hall: 7 apartments & a new sunroom.
• The Grounds: 21 new apartments & 2 cottages.
• External landscaping, cycle stands, and upgraded parking area.

Amend the Planning Act 2008 to end the system where one Minister makes final decisions on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). We want this power transferred to an independent panel of experts or decided by a vote in Parliament ensuring transparent and collective decision-making.

As seen in the attached infographic this project is nothing short of a 616,000 tonne logistics nightmare!

​We are not just questioning this project; we are exposing it. Thanks to our investigations, we can reveal:

​📉 Meaningless Traffic Plans: The entire traffic strategy is fundamentally flawed due to a shocking failure in basic geological due diligence.

​🪨 The Granite Crisis: They need 616,000 tonnes of granite because local gritstone is too weak and limestone is chemically toxic to the acid bog.

​🛤️ No Rail Strategy: Proposed sites like Horton are completely unsuited and were never even consulted for receiving these massive aggregate imports.

​🚚 Gridlock in Colne: Shifting to a granite-only model would cause gridlock and risk property damage in our local towns.

​📄 Total Accountability: Even the lead traffic planner has shredded their own report, admitting it was based on incorrect assumptions about local stone availability.
