A couple say they have lost £7,000 after the pub they booked for their wedding went into liquidation.

Andy Bordley had used money his late mother left him to pay for the ceremony and reception at The Hare & Hounds in Keresley, Coventry, in April. He has since been alerted by a friend in the pub trade that the venue had closed.

"We got everything organised; the venue, the DJ... We didn't know this was going to happen. We had no idea that they were in such bad debt," said Bordley.

In correspondence to people, the pub's owners said "every available avenue" had been tried to avert the problem, and the BBC understands firm Cromwell Insolvency has been appointed to handle the case.
