Kenyan President William Ruto has issued a strong warning to the United Nations, insisting that Africa must be granted a permanent seat at the global body or risk losing the support of its 54 nations.
In his words:
"I WILL LEAD A DELEGATION OF AFRICAN LEADERS TO PULL OUT OF UNITED NATIONS IF AFRICA IS NOT GIVEN A PERMANENT SEAT… ENOUGH OF THE DISRESPECT!
You cannot claim to be the United Nations while disregarding the voices of fifty-four nations, it is impossible. Africa will no longer remain on the margins of global governance while decisions on peace, security, and development are made without our perspectives and our voice.
Excluding Africa is not only unacceptable, unfair, and grossly unjust, it undermines the very credibility of this organization. Africa dominates much of the Security Council’s agenda, provides some of the largest contingents of UN peacekeepers, and bears the heaviest costs of instability. Yet, we remain the only continent without a permanent seat."

Breaking: Senate Reopens Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Office, Signals End to Dispute with Akpabio
After weeks of tension, the Senate has finally reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central, which was previously sealed amid her suspension.
On Tuesday, officials of the National Assembly, led by the Sergeant-at-Arms and backed by security personnel, unsealed her office — Room 205 in the Senate wing. This move also restores her access to the National Assembly premises.
The decision is seen as a major step toward resolving the standoff between Senator Natasha and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who had been at loggerheads over her suspension.
With her office now accessible, the lawmaker is expected to gradually return to legislative duties. Political observers believe this development could ease the frosty relations within the Senate and mark a soft landing in the controversy that has kept her away from work.

I am the only Governor in Nigeria presently that all his children are schooling in the country and not even beyond Southeast!
3 in Ebonyi and 2 in Enugu. Their biggest school fees is #35, 000 and when I told them in the Nigeria Governor's forum, all were surprised and felt sober.
Some Commissioners in my Government has schools they are paying over 2 Million naira per term for their children but I can't imagine myself paying such amount that's more than 5Million per term for my children.
Where will I get the money to continue paying for their school fees after my temporary tenure as a Governor? I don't want to develop blood pressure during the time I should be resting.
We must have to join hands together and reposition educational system in the country such that we can bring down those things that are lacking here that is making those big men to always send their children abroad for studies and I must make sure it starts from Ebonyi State.
His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru 03-01-2025.
Moral Lesson : If we no repair our education system, even common spelling of "education" go dey push parents abroad. We gats make am sweet for house so that big men no go dey form foreign when school dey their backyard. Remember, school suppose be normal life, no be luxury like Prado jeep.
Na who no wan rest after tenure dey do over-expensive lifestyle wey no get backup plan. Cut your coat according to your cloth, no be according to your neighbor’s a*o ebi.🤪😂

Anambra 2025: Critics Blast Soludo Over “Dirty Politics” Targeting Ekwunife and Moghalu
As Anambra State prepares for one of its most heated political sea*ons ahead of the November 8 governorship election, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has come under intense criticism for what many describe as gutter politics and reckless misuse of power.
Soludo, who is seeking a second term under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has openly boasted that he will “destroy the reputation” of Senator Uche Ekwunife, the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, while at the same time mocking Labour Party’s George Moghalu in public gatherings.
His Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Adichie Izuchukwu, went as far as declaring that a coordinated online attack had been launched to permanently “damage Uche Ekwunife’s political career.” Writing on behalf of the governor, Izuchukwu posted:
“Dancing to the gods because I know, I will use my 30k followers to damage Uche Ekwunife’s political career beyond repair!”
The brazen outburst, coming from an aide with less than 30 followers himself, quickly triggered outrage. Many Nigerians took to social media to slam the governor for dragging politics in Anambra into the mud.
Chinedu Chukwuna commented:
“Such an unfortunate statement. The internet never forgets.”
Elobig Cyprian added:
“It’s laughable to hear someone boast about destroying Uche Ekwunife’s political career. She is a big fish in Nigerian politics, a woman who has built her name through resilience and impact. Even Soludo himself knows her weight and fears her influence. Real leadership is not about pulling others down, it’s about building the people up. What Anambra needs is progress, not threats.”
Ndubest Jerry also weighed in:
“You guys have just shown that Iyom is Soludo’s nightmare. Go on, we are watching as you keep promoting Amazon.”
This backlash follows weeks of character attacks aimed at Ekwunife. Soludo and his aides earlier accused her of parading a “fake PhD,” insisting she had no diploma, degree, or master’s, but suddenly appeared with a doctorate. Critics say this line of attack only exposes the governor’s fear of her growing popularity and strong grassroots network.
Soludo’s mockery has not been limited to Ekwunife. At a Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria rally in Awka, he openly ridiculed George Moghalu of the Labour Party, saying:
“There’s somebody I saw when I was coming in… my brother George Moghalu, you’re welcome. I heard they said you’re contesting for something (laughs hysterically). But don’t worry, after you’re done struggling in vain you’ll still come back to me.”
Observers see this as a clear sign of arrogance and a leader intoxicated by power—one who would rather ridicule opponents than focus on pressing issues like insecurity and poverty that plague Anambra.
Civil society groups have not kept quiet. Organizations like the South East Patriots condemned Soludo’s conduct, calling it “infantile character assassination” at a time when the state is struggling with violence and human rights violations.
Since the governor launched his controversial Agunechemba vigilante outfit, reports of extrajudicial killings, extortion, abductions, and brutal assaults have been on the rise. In July, operatives allegedly stripped and brutalized NYSC corps member Jennifer Edema. Deadly attacks have also been recorded in communities like Ogboji and Ogidi, yet critics argue the governor spends more energy insulting rivals than fixing insecurity.
Obunike Ohaegbu, Convener of the South East Patriots, criticized the governor, saying:
“As a sitting governor with full access to official channels of verification, he could have quietly investigated Senator Ekwunife’s credentials. Instead, he chose the path of public demonisation.”
Political analysts also believe Soludo’s constant attacks on Ekwunife are a reflection of his fear of her growing strength. Paul Akabueze, Coordinator of Citizens Round Table, warned that the governor’s arrogance and smear tactics could end up alienating voters who are already tired of insecurity, economic hardship, and broken promises.
