🚀 AI + Automation = More Time to Create!

For months, I’ve been working on something behind the scenes—an AI-powered automation script that now runs on my iMac, scraping websites for press assets to support the content on StuMii VGamer. 🎮📥

❓Why use AI for this?
Because it’s boring, repetitive, and eats up hours of my day. What used to take an entire morning now runs automatically in minutes thanks to scheduled scripts.

But I didn’t stop there…

With AI helping me write and edit articles—especially helpful given my learning difficulties—I’ve trained it over the past year to match my writing style and voice. Now we’re in Phase Two: AI-assisted article generation. Yup, it's happening!

💻 The script will be available soon on GitHub. I’d love your feedback, ideas, and even your criticisms—bring it on!

Let’s make room for more creativity and less tedium.

Today is a busy day for your Big Damn Heroes, as tomorrow TyLau Creative Specialists are starting their Bulls in the City project in Birmingham for the next 4 days.

Also your BDH Creative Designer is learning a new language; Python. This is to help automate the workflow in creating and publishing content for StuMiiVGamer and CoventryLife.

Moving forward embracing AI to do jobs I would have to hire out, save me spending money I don’t have to. So automating leaves more time to stream live content.

After a few weeks, our Designer is about to reach into his iMac and punch WordPress out of existence. Yet again, facing a new set of issues in creating features.

Working on the StuMiiVGamer website has been very challenging, and constantly hitting creative limits working with WordPress.

Nothing our Designer hates is compromising, and trust me, he wants the world to know all about it. But then he follows up with, "There's nothing worse in having a half-assed website. Well, it's not like I'm a Developer or anything, so when are we getting one? And if you can't find one, go and clone you know who!"

Can't say I wasn't warned. I had been told that our designer is difficult to work with, but that's what you get when you work with an out-of-the-box thinker.

For the past three weeks, I’ve been hard at work trying to bring some exciting new features to life on my website. There are three key elements I’m determined to include, but even after countless hours of diving into YouTube tutorials and online resources, I’m still searching for the perfect solution.

While I thrive on crafting innovative designs, I’ll admit that my strengths lean much more toward design than development. Over the past two decades, some of my ideas have certainly tested the patience of developers (thank you to all who’ve persevered with me—especially you know who you are!).

I’ve attached some concept visuals to illustrate my vision:
1️⃣ Draw Effect: On a single click, additional images and text dynamically appear.
2️⃣ Interchangeable Images: An overlay feature that displays game status or party player count.
3️⃣ Organized Image Library: A structured system to categorize and sort images seamlessly.

And the say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, especially when the old tricks still work. But it’s been 20 years since I’ve created a website and although a little slow the knowledge of html and css are still there, rusty but I still know what I’m doing.

And yep, totally misbehavin’ and doing things my way, the old school way. Wordpress is a headache for another day… 😁
