Daniel and Becky’s kitchen balances warmth and precision. The CRL Luna Bianco worktops give the room a gentle, refined surface that pairs well with the deep timber tones and ribbed detailing. Carrara sits in the Apuan Alps, a region known for marble with a long history in European design. Frank Hawkins, our Managing Director, visited the area last month to walk the quarries, watch the cutting rigs at work and see first-hand how one of the sites is also used as an event space. It is a clear look at the scale, texture and craft behind the stone.

Across the warehouses, bold gold-veined Calacatta pieces sat alongside distinctive patterns found only in this part of Italy. Vintage workers’ bikes and carved architectural details added to the sense of heritage that runs through the region.

These visits guide how we select stone for the UK. They keep our choices grounded in the source so every slab brought home reflects the standard we set at QWC.
