Social media isn’t just about likes and shares - it can actually help your SEO too!

Now, SEO might not be the most glamorous topic, but it can really make a difference to your business.

At the moment, I’m helping a few of my clients with blog writing and email marketing alongside their social channels. These things do more than just fill up the feed - they give Google more ways to find their business, while keeping their audience engaged.

Even just a monthly blog post can make a difference:
- It drives traffic from Google searches
- It gives you content you can reuse on social media
- It shows your audience (and Google!) that you know your stuff

A little tip from me: keep your Google Business profile updated and link any blogs or posts back to your website - it all adds up and really helps with SEO over time.

This is my happy as Larry face! 😂

I have just started working with a new client in the mental health space. We had a few meetings to get on the same page and go through all the info they shared, then I sent over my first posts for proofing.

I was a little nervous, so it was such a relief when they came back saying they loved them, with just a few tiny tweaks. Excited to keep working with them and help share their important work!

I’m so pleased to share a new case study for my work with Kings Group!

Since early 2025, I’ve been working with them to make their social media more consistent and show off the full range of what they do across the South West - from electrical and security work to commercial projects and even high-security contracts for the Ministry of Defence.

It’s been a really collaborative process. They send me brilliant content, I help shape it into posts that actually make sense to their audience, and together we’ve built a strategy that works. Over time, they’ve trusted me with more responsibilities, from blog content to a fully branded company pamphlet - which is really exciting!

You can read the full case study to see the results and how we work together.

2025 might not be over yet, but my head is already in 2026!

Like most social media managers, I’m always thinking about how to give my clients the best service - not just for the next post or campaign, but long-term. And honestly, I do the same for myself too. I’m thinking about what’s worked this year, what I can do differently next year, and how I can make my business run more smoothly.

Planning ahead before the Christmas rush is the perfect time to do this! Here’s how I approach it:

1. Look back before you look forward
Spend a little time reviewing this year’s performance. What worked? What didn’t? Which posts or campaigns got the engagement you wanted? This will help you make smarter decisions for 2026.

2. Set your goals
Think about where you want your social media pages (or your freelance business!) to be by the end of next year. More engagement? Bigger reach? Stronger client relationships? Write them down - clarity is everything.

3. Plan your content in advance
A rough content plan for the first few months can save you stress later. Think about seasonal events, campaigns, and recurring themes. Batching your content is your friend!

4. Build routines that work for you
Consistency is key - whether that’s a Sunday content prep session, a quick Monday review, or a monthly strategy check-in. Small routines prevent overwhelm and keep your work running smoothly.

5. Keep a little flexibility
Plans are great, but don’t be rigid. Trends, news, or client needs can change. Make sure your plan allows for creativity and spontaneous opportunities too.

If you’re managing your own pages, or thinking about going freelance, doing this groundwork now will make a huge difference. 2026 is the year to be prepared, stay organised, and get your socials working for you, not the other way around.

Exciting news! I have three loves in this world: family, football (COYS!), and community - and what a great way to bring all three together! ⚽

I’m really proud to be a sponsor of Champions Football in Cullompton - youth football training sessions for children aged 5–12. My own son has been attending for two years and absolutely loves it, so it made perfect sense to support Lee and the fantastic work he’s doing to help young players build confidence and enjoy the game.

It’s a brilliant community to be part of, and I’m so excited to see what’s ahead for Champions Football.

There are times I look at a client’s social media page and just think… I’m so lucky I get to do this for a living.

Somerdale is one of those clients. They export the very best of British and Irish cheese to over 50 countries worldwide - and I get to help shout about it! We catch up at least once a month and it’s a proper team effort to make sure their brand shows up consistently and professionally online.

What started as just managing their socials has now grown into a much wider role - updating their website, creating marketing materials, and even liaising with major publications in the USA! It’s all very exciting stuff and easily one of my favourite collaborations.

I’ve shared the full story (and the results!) over on my Case Study page - go take a look!

Freelancing can get a bit lonely sometimes, but then you get the chance to meet amazing people who really know their stuff. I brainstormed ideas with the designer and the team in the USA, who’ll be handing these out at events. They got sign-off first time, so we could go straight to print - and I think they look mint! My client is very happy too 🙌

It’s nice to do something a bit different from my usual social media work!

I’m back from my break in the Welsh countryside and straight into reality with a ridiculous inbox and a very busy week ahead - hence the slightly bemused look here! 😂

Some big, juicy meetings to prep for (exciting stuff - can’t say much just yet!), plus I’ll be onboarding a new client too - it’s all go at SV HQ!

If you’ve got any burning social media questions, just drop me a message - always happy to help!

November is just around the corner (O.M.G. it’s nearly Christmas!) - and with it comes plenty to celebrate with your followers.

Who’s taking part in Movember this year? If you’re in retail, good luck for Black Friday! And don’t forget to give generously for Children in Need.

Get that content scheduled - November’s looking busy!

I’m off next week to enjoy the Welsh countryside with my family.

If you have any questions, I’ll get back to you w/c 3rd November - I’ll be completely offline during half-term week.

See you in November! 👋

Had such a great catch-up over coffee with a client this morning - it’s been a few months since we last saw each other thanks to both our busy schedules!

We talked through how things are going with their socials (he was full of praise, which was amazing!) and made plans to expand my role to cover some extra marketing bits and pieces they really need. I’m really excited to get started, and they’ve even given me the go-ahead to create a case study about our collaboration since they’re so happy with everything! Woohoo!
