🐔 A planning application has been approved by Torfaen Council for a Nando’s restaurant to open in Cwmbran.
The decision was made on Wednesday 27th May for two planning applications.
The first being 26/P/0151/FUL Installation of mechanical restaurant plant and external alterations to shopfront.
The second planning application 26/P/0161/ADV is for display of signage.
A building control application was also approved for “Fit out of a former Harvester restaurant to a Nandos, incuding new HVAC plant, cold rooms, kitchen fabrication inluding fixtures and fittings.”
The planning application, as attached to this post, shows changes to the exterior of the property as well as the layout and signage for Unit 5 at Cwmbran Leisure once Nando’s takes possession.
The unit is currently occupied by Harvester, but an online listing by LCP, the landlord who are also the owners of the neighbouring town centre, showed the unit as under offer in recent weeks.
A spokesperson for Harvester, said: "Sadly, we can confirm the Harvester St Davids in Cwmbran will close following service on June 18th , 2026.
"This decision has been taken after careful consideration and as part of the continual review of our estate and we are in consultation with the team and hope to redeploy as many employees as possible at our other nearby businesses.
"There is still more than two weeks for locals to enjoy the restaurant before it closes, and
"Beyond that, fans of the Harvester can still enjoy Harvester Pontypool, Spytty Retail Park, Newport and The Borderer, Newport.
"We'd like to thank our loyal guests for their support and the brilliant team at St Davids for their hard work."
