A prolific shoplifter who targeted commercial addresses in Cwmbran has been jailed for more than 12 months.
Warren Turnbull, of no fixed address, admitted to multiple counts of theft from a shop when he was sentenced at Newport Magistrates' Court on Monday 7 September.
Turnbull, aged 46, stole items, ranging from sausage rolls to a microwave, from stores in the Cwmbran area between Wednesday 22 July and Tuesday 1 September.
At the time of his offending, Turnbull was on licence after previously receiving a suspended sentence for multiple theft offences on Monday 22 June.
Inspector Laura Paget, from Gwent Police's Community Action Team, said:
"We’re committed to keeping our communities safe from harm and recognise that theft is not a victimless crime.
“The impact of these offences committed by is Turnbull is hugely felt by our communities, notably businesses and retailers.
“It is crucial that anyone who is impacted by crime, including theft and burglary, reports it to us so we can continue to target criminals, like Turnbull, who make life a misery for businesses in Cwmbran and beyond."
