Heavy rain is likely to bring some disruption and probable flooding on Monday.

What should I expect?

Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible.
Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
Possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.
Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.
Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, which could cause a danger to life.

An area of heavy rain is expected to move over south Wales between late Sunday and late Monday. Whilst rainfall amounts will vary, some heavy and persistent rainfall is likely to fall, especially over high ground, for example Bannau Brycheiniog. Rain should clear to the east Monday night.

20-40 mm of rain is likely to fall quite widely across the wider region, but 60-80 mm is likely to accumulate over some windward-facing high ground in south Wales and perhaps nearer 100-120 mm in a few places.

Strong south to southwesterly winds will accompany the heavy rain, particularly in coastal areas.

M&S eyes up return to Cwmbran!

M&S have revealed the latest list of locations they hope to open new stores at. The retailer has confirmed the requirements for their food retail stores outside of London.

M&S are looking for stores sized 21,500+ sqft GIA in a prominent location with high visibility.

The store would require dedicated parking of 150+ spaces.

As well as Cwmbran, M&S has hopes for new food retail stores at other locations including Abergavenny, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Chepstow, Monmouth, Penarth, Pontarddulais, and Porthcawl.

Exciting news for M Cwmbran!

The shopping centre is entering a transformative phase with major investment aimed at modernising and revitalising the town centre.
Working in partnership with Torfaen County Borough Council, this ambitious regeneration programme will strengthen Cwmbran’s position as a top retail and leisure destination in South Wales.

Key highlights include:
✅ Redevelopment of Gwent House – construction begins Q2 2027, delivering modern, high-quality facilities by 2029.
✅ Transformation of Gwent Square – new green spaces, seating, water features, and an inviting environment for visitors.
✅ New leisure offering – a 15-year lease with Flip Out UK, bringing family entertainment like arcades, roller disco, laser quest, and inflatable zones to the former cinema and bingo hall.

This project reflects a shared commitment to economic growth, community spaces, and creating a vibrant town centre where people can shop, socialise, and enjoy everything Cwmbran has to offer.

Santa will be at his Gwent Square Grotto at M Cwmbran Centre every Saturday and Sunday from 23rd November to 24th December, between 11am and 4pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to make cherished memories, snap some festive photos, and share your Christmas wishes with Santa and his elves.

Quiet Time Sessions
Santa understands that the hustle and bustle of the season can be overwhelming for some. That’s why he’s introducing Quiet Time every Sunday from 23rd November to 21st December, between 11am and 12pm. These sessions are designed to create a calmer, more relaxed environment for families who need it.
