Lots for Tots Awards 2026 - dates for your diary!

As with previous years, the 2026 awards will consist of three stages.

1. Nominations. This will be open for anyone to nominate their favourite Derbyshire based business, education provider, charity or individual in any of the 20 categories. The criteria for each of the awards will be available to ensure your nominations aren’t wasted. You are able to nominate more than one business per category if you wish to and as in previous years, you are able to nominate yourself.

2. Voting. As with the 2025 awards, the majority of categories will have just one round of voting. You will only be able to vote once for each category, so make your vote count! The top 5 from each category will be our finalists and will be required to purchase tickets for the awards night on 16th May at 6pm.

3. Supporting information. The finalists will then be required to submit supporting information to the judges. The judges will then feedback, and the winners and runners-up for each category will be decided based on a points score, whereby the judges’ and the public votes each count for 50%.

For the finalists in the categories which are decided entirely by the public votes, there will not be any supporting information. Instead voting will reopen to decide the winner.

We have always been overwhelmed with the volume of nominations and votes. It is a testament to the incredible community we are a part of. We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings! Who are you going to be nominating?

Footprints Conductive Education Centre -

“Our work is inspired by the principles and practices of Conductive Education, a holistic education approach developed to help children with disabilities consciously learn the life skills that come more naturally to others. Our work encourages the development of physical, communication, social, sensory, self-help and thinking skills, such as sitting, standing, touching, listening, looking, eating and playing.

We work closely with the child and their family in a safe, positive and supportive environment to encourage and motivate each child’s desire to achieve tasks. At the same time, we give families the knowledge, confidence and strength to cope with the disabilities their child lives with and understand how they can help.

The age range of children attending our service is between 6 months to 11 years of age and our Education Team, together with children and families in group sessions, ensure a collaborative partnership working approach.”

Our annual award night will be happening on Saturday 16th May 2026, and plans for next year’s event are well underway.

What will these awards look like? And how will the evening differ from in previous years?

1. A new venue
Our 2026 awards will be held at Burton Albion Football Club, in Stretton, just off the A38. The incredible growth of the awards has meant that we were in need of a larger space, a space in which we can all be in one room, to network, party and celebrate together. Just as before, there is plenty of free parking, a welcome drink will be waiting for you upon arrival, followed by a sit down meal.

2. Runner-up
You asked, we listened. The 2026 awards will see the addition of a runner-up for each award category. Although, as in previous years, we will be ensuring that at the heart of the awards is a celebration of all finalists.

3. Five finalists
The number of finalists for each category will increase, from the four in previous years, to five. Giving even more businesses the opportunity to get involved.

4. Categories
Changes to the categories sees the addition of four brand new awards, taking the total up to twenty. Who will you be nominating for; Early Years Educator of the Year, Franchisee of the Year, Local Family Food Retailer of the Year and Behind the Scenes Star?

Our 2026 awards promises to be the biggest and best yet, we are already excited for an evening in recognition of all of the wonderful businesses, charities, education providers and individuals that makes Derbyshire a wonderful place for families.
